chapstick-01

This is the chapstick I use. I found one that's organic, free of chemicals, and unscented. It's always good to have a few of these around. I keep one in the house, car, and luggage for travel. They are easy to misplace or forget, so you want multiple of them. When you need it, and don't have it, life sucks.

The YT channel Eternal Depth has over 100 pieces of long moody ambient background music. This is great for setting mood, meditation, contemplation, sleep, and drowning out noise.

Here's an example:

J.J. McCullough has impressive political understanding, wisdom, and maturity. He's just grounded, reasonable, and balanced. I'm not a fan of his channel videos, but the interviews he does on other channels and podcasts are an excellent demonstration of conscious, responsible politics. This is what political discussion should be like, rather than partisan ravings.

spatula-01

This is the stainless steel spatula I cook with. It is so good I got multiples of them because I'm always using them.

They are so thin and flexible that they make flipping stuff like omelets, burgers, or delicate fish easy. Also good for scrapping food from flat pans.

Obviously this is not for use on Teflon or non-stick pans.

Make sure that all of your cooking utensils are not plastic, rubber, or some other potentially toxic chemical concoction. That's why I get everything in stainless steel.

If these sort of posts seem odd or grifty to you, I'm making an effort to share my favorite products. Something simple and practical. Not everything is about philosophy. Sometimes your life is just improved by finding the right spatula, USB cable, or screwdriver. I am passionate about finding and sharing the perfect products. Finding a perfect product is one of life's simple joys. They are like physical life hacks that pay divides for years to come. Finding perfect products is not trivial and takes works. I've made a mini hobby of it. Hell, you could make a whole career or LP out of it. I try to find the perfect song, the perfect paper towel, the perfect hot sauce, the perfect toothpaste, the perfect drinking glass, the perfect fork. Being a perfectionist is a curse but also has its benefits. So when I find the best stuff I share it here.

But also, Spatula is God.

I played white against a 1800-rated bot. Another 92% accuracy and 2050-Elo level of play. A fun game. I'm getting better and more consistent.

I noticed that what Chess.com considers the "best" and most "accurate" moves aren't also so. Sometimes they assume the opponent will make some stupid counter-moves that would never be played. Relying on engines to tell you the best ideal moves or your accuracy doesn't seem to always be correct. Chess would be much better off with no engines. It spoils the magic.
