YouTube Corruption

The YouTube interface has become so corrupt it’s nearly unusable these days. The homepage is corrupt, the search results are corrupt — padded with mindless junk you never asked to see. It’s no longer even possible to do a proper search, YouTube gives you 4 search results and then floods the rest with recommended junk to maximize their profits. It’s disgusting.

Luckily I found a great solution that fixes most of those issues. It’s called CustomTube. This extension for FireFox and Chrome lets you customize your YT layout and remove all the junk like Shorts. It also lets you reduce the oversized default thumbnail sizes. It even fixes the crap search results. And more. It’s highly customizable.

It saddens me how much YouTube has been corrupted over the last few years. And it keeps getting worse. Each year YouTube prioritizes serving up slop rather than good user experience. This is ruining the noosphere.
