This is brutally accurate. I wish I knew this 25 years ago.

This is the best argument against democracy and populism. This is why democracy and populism struggle so much. Intelligence is really challenging to scale across hundreds of millions of people. In a sense, you could think of mankind’s #1 developmental challenge as: how do we make everyone intelligent? Mankind has been chipping away at this problem for 10,000 years and we still haven’t solved it. What is the solution?
