Vivek is a socialist, and while I don’t think socialism is realistic at all, his intelligence on politics is impressive. I recommend studying this work. He has books and video appearances. He is good at understanding the problems with post-modernism and the corruption of the careerist academic class. I don’t care so much what someone’s political worldview is, as long as it’s intelligent. What I can’t stand is stupidity as politics.

Vivek is still missing development psychology. The reason that his socialism will fail is because lower class workers are Stage Blue and Orange, not Green. You will never get Blue & Orange to side with Green unless they are educated enough to become Green. Right-wingers win Blue & Orange with the culture wars for much deeper reasons than leftists appreciate. It’s not really about culture, it’s about development level. Blue & Orange people cannot do democratic socialism — their ego is too selfish.

What Vivek doesn’t see is that development level trumps economic concerns. That’s why the working class votes for politicians who make them worse off economically. Leftists are both too developed and not developed enough to appreciate the lack of development in the vast majority of mankind. Socialists underestimate how backwards the majority is, especially the working class. Convincing the working class to vote Green is like convincing a woman in an abusive relationship to drop her boyfriend. She will not listen to logic.

I am no fan of capitalism, but it’s also obvious to me that socialism is totally unworkable given America’s development level. For democratic socialism to work, I think at least 50% of the populace must be at Stage Green. We are nowhere close to that yet. As MAGA reveals, America is less developed than we all hoped.
