The Loop Of Wrong Sense-Making
By Leo Gura - December 21, 2025
Look how profound this gets:
If your sense-making is wrong, you will use that wrong sense-making to make sense of your own sense-making, judging it to be right. Doubly sure of yourself and doubly wrong, you will proceed to use that wrong sense-making to make sense of anyone who comes along and points out the wrongness in your sense-making.
Any wrongness in sense-making is projected outward onto others by the mind, making them appear wrong even if they are right. If your sense-making is wrong you will perceive anyone who contradicts you of having wrong sense-making. In this way your mind constructs an unfalsifiable projection/illusion which no one can pull you out of because you think you’re right and they’re wrong. This is the ultimate mechanism of self-created paradigm lock. No amount of evidence or proof can pull you out of this paradigm lock because you will interpret it as being wrong. This paradigm lock is found in Christianity, Islam, Mormons, Scientology, science, academia, cults, MAGA, Nazism, terrorism, libertarianism, Marxism, and more.
The mind is always using its paradigm to judge its own paradigm. This unnoticed circularity creates the illusion of being right while being wrong. It is like installing a fox to guard your hen-house and then asking him, “Hey, are my chicken doing okay?”, Fox: “Yes sir! Chickens all good!”, You: “Good, good. Keep up the good work.”, Fox: “Yes sir! You can count on me sir!”, You: “What a good fox I have.”
The tragedy of wrong sense-making is that it is wrong at making sense of all the ways it is wrong, and the mind cannot see it. The mind literally lacks the self-awareness/intelligence needed to go meta on itself.
YOU CANNOT TRUST YOUR OWN MIND! This is Rule #1 of epistemology. Really get this. Really contemplate this until the gravity of it penetrates your bones. Nobody understands Rule #1. They think they do, but they don’t.
This is why epistemology is so tricky. Almost everyone falls into this trap. Especially scientists and academics. They make the huge mistake of assuming that only religious or mystical people fall into this trap. As if science saves you from this devious projection. Haha!
This is why radical openmindedness is pivotal in sense-making. If you are not openminded enough to imagine that your sense-making is entirely wrong, you are forever fucked. No amount of education can save you.
This is why I am so openminded. I figured this out when I was 18 years old and I’ve been living it for 20 years. Yet the world’s best scientists have not. Why not? Because they never cared about truth, they were just conforming to academia.
Do you understand that academia cannot teach you that academia is an illusion?!
That is called suicide.
If it did, it would not exist.
No illusion will willingly betray itself. Not academia, not science, not Christianity, not Marxism, not capitalism, not nationalism, not humanity, and certainly not your ego. If you want to deconstruct these illusions you will have to drag them kicking and screaming to the grave. But watch out, because they bite back and might throw you in the grave instead.
The key thing for you to realize is that these illusions are alive, they are intelligent. They will proactively fight you as you try to deconstruct them. Think of these illusions like intelligent spirits who you will be wrestling with for years to come. The only way to achieve Freedom and Autonomy of Mind is if you wrestle and defeat each trickster spirit in hand-to-hand combat. You are Nick Cage in Willy’s Wonderland.
Imagine that science isn’t some dry, dumb institution or theoretical abstraction but an intelligent trickster spirit. Its job is to ensnare and parasitize your mind until you are dead. Will you let it?
Now, here’s the final double-irony: someone reading this post with bad sense-making will make sense of it as me recruiting you into a cult. He will not have enough self-awareness to see that this is his projection. So he will read everything written here and it still won’t save him. He will rationalize to himself, “I know better than this Leo guy! Leo is the deluded one.” That’s how deep this goes. There is no cure for closedmindedness.
