This shows you how arbitrary “normal” is. Your mind does not have any absolute measure of what is “normal” because normal is entirely relative. If you were born into a society where trained gorillas flew planes, you wouldn’t think there’s anything strange about it. You’d take it entirely for granted, as you do with everything else.

This also demonstrates why liberalism is more developed than conservatism. The liberal mind is more developed because it is more open to new possibilities. The conservative mind is too closed to see the possibility that women could be good pilots whereas the liberal mind can see it. But what’s the truth? The truth turns out to be that women can be good pilots. So the liberal position is truer than the conservative one.

When a liberal hears about a woman flying a plane, his reaction is, “Oh, how cool!”

When a conservative hears about a woman flying a plane, his reaction is, “OMG. Civilization is doomed. Nope. Nope. Nope.”

Note: I am not saying male pilots don’t have certain advantages, but those advantages aren’t necessarily important enough to matter in commercial aviation. A liberal mind can see that whereas a conservative mind cannot.
