It is not the case that conservatives hate empathy. They love empathy when it’s for them. They just hate empathy for everyone who is not them.

Conservatives want empathy for me but not for thee.

Conservatives corrupt empathy by biasing it exclusively towards themselves. There are serious consequences for that. It means you’ll be deluded. Biasing empathy like that is not worth the epistemic cost. Instead, strive for equal, even-handed, unbiased empathy.

The notion that God loves some more than others is childish and laughable.
