This is my favorite app for writing books.

Scrivener

It allows for complex levels of hierarchy and organization and a very clean writing interface. This app is specifically designed for serious book writing. It’s very simple but powerful.

This is what I use to write my book, which is massive and complex so it requires a very good organization system or else it would be impossible to write. I didn’t know how to practically write my book until I discovered this software.

It’s not free but totally worth the cost if you are a serious writer.

It is available for Windows, Mac, and iOS.
