Scientific Gaslighting

Science is one of the most egregious and devious forms of gaslighting. Scientists make mystical people feel like idiots when in fact they are smarter than scientists. One of the things my work does is beat back that gaslighting, to create space for people to be both mystical and rational. Science is so busy gaslighting people that they have no room to entertain mystical intelligence. Science’s gaslighting and strawmanning of mysticism has made it seem like something for morons, when it is in fact vastly more intelligent than science.

Is the gaslighting intentional and malicious? No. It is just the natural consequence of ignorance, closedmindedness, and conformity. A scientific person honestly believes he is defending truth and reason. That’s the tragedy of it. “Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do.”
