This is very good. I love this level of intelligence in politics.

Our usual political discourse is just so mind-numbingly stupid that I cannot listen to it any longer.

However, again, I must warn, nothing he’s talking about will ever come to pass. It’s all way too advanced to be actualized in our lifetime. He is lecturing into a void.

Joseph correctly points out that socialism/Marxism doesn’t fix the problems of capitalism unless it gets rid of markets. Today’s socialists and Marxists do not understand this. They think they can fix the evil of capitalism while keeping markets. What Joseph is proposing is more radical than what most socialists and Marxists today want. But at least he understands why it is necessary. He is not kidding himself that you can keep markets and have your socialist utopia. He is proposing a serious socialism. However, that’s exactly why it will never pass. Eliminating markets is an insanely radical feat of social engineering which will fail. There is an arrogance in thinking you are intelligent enough to out-engineer markets. Joseph is very intelligent, but he’s not that intelligent.
