This is one of the best cases for conservatism. Social systems contain a baked-in intelligence that leftist academics and activists do not even know exists, and could never explicate. This is why Marxism and many progressive plans fail. There is a kind of implicit intelligence to social survival which leftist theorists underestimate. That’s why leftists tend to be naively utopian. Society is such a deep, complex, intelligent thing that you cannot just sit down in your office and invent a better system on paper.
