Leo's Conformity Example

Example of conformity I deeply remember from my childhood:

When I was in 1st grade my best friend and I went to a food court in a mall and each ordered a big slice of NY-style pizza for lunch. I was sitting there enjoying my slice when my friend took a bite of his slice and made a disgusted face. He found something about his slice wrong or disgusting. It was just a basic pepperoni pizza, nothing weird about it. But he wanted to go return it. And in that moment I felt pressured to act like there was also something wrong with my slice. I started to act like my slice tasted bad too, even though I was enjoying it just seconds earlier.

Later I realized how wrong it was for me to conform like that. Lesson learned.

But many people live their whole lives like that.
