Ergot

This is ergot. It’s a fungus that grows on grains like wheat and rye. Ergot naturally produces lysergic acid, which is a precursor to LSD. The ancient Greeks and Romans basically had LSD in the form of ergot.

Note: Do not consume ergot. It is toxic and causes serious illness and death.
