Appalachian Christian Snake-Handers

There is a verse in the Gospel of Mark in the Bible which says that those who follow Jesus will be able to do magical things, including handling snakes and drinking poison. This verse was added late into the Bible around the year 400 AD, so it is not an original verse. But today, Christians in Appalachia take that verse so seriously that they invented their own branch of Christianity involving handling snakes and drinking poisons.

“Assault with a deadly reptile”. Hahaha

Now imagine that folks like that invented the original Christianity. Yikes!
