It is astounding to me that serious intellectuals can enter such a system and not recognize that this corrupts the entire intellectual process from its foundation. Serious truth-seeking cannot be done inside such a corrupt, conformist, and survival-dominated human construct.

I want you to viscerally feel how survival-oriented the academic game is. Academia is a ruthless survival pressure-cooker. This makes truth-seeking nearly impossible.

The rot in academia is not SJWs and queers, it’s good old-fashioned capitalism and a business-as-usual attitude of everyone involved. Academia is a rigged survival game, a true pyramid scheme, but one with epic cultural cache. How can an obvious pyramid scheme have so much prestige and respect? That is the quandary!

If you actually cared about understanding Reality, how could you be so irresponsible as to hitch your wagon to such a system? That’s what I want academia to answer for. How can you love truth and intelligence and then quietly accept and enable such a system? But people don’t just accept it, they revere it! Academia is revered as the pinnacle of truth by outsiders who don’t know any better or insiders who are too professionally conflicted to question the system.

I don’t think that non-academics understand how corrupt the entire academic system is. If they knew, they would be a lot more skeptical of scientific proclamations. An important aspect of successfully deconstructing science is understanding just how corrupted by survival academia is. Once you see that, your eyes are opened and you can never take it too seriously ever again.

Realize this: You cannot get tenure in a major university without not intellectually pissing off your colleagues. This is insane epistemic lapse! No one who is serious about epistemology can just accept that as, “Well, that’s just how things are done around here.” NO! If you are cool with this system, you are an epistemic pervert. Such a system cannot produce truth!

In order to deconstruct science you need to take the corruption and conformity of academia — the so-called “sociology of science” — way more seriously. This point is not understand deeply enough by almost anyone. In a nutshell, the sociology of science is deep shit.

If academia was doing its job properly, I would be out of a job. As long as I am able to earn a living doing what I do, academia is failing. In a properly functioning academic system a guy like me would not be able to understand deeper than the system. But understanding deeper than academia is easy today. Why in the fuck does a free YouTube channel teach philosophy better than a $100,000 Harvard graduate degree? Because I eliminated the survival pressure-cooker enough so I could focus on pure truth-seeking. But more fundamentally, because I cared enough about truth to do that in the first place. Why don’t academics? That’s what baffles me. How can someone be a serious academic but not care this deeply about truth?? The answer is simple: conformity. Grad students entering professional academia are not seriously questioning anything, they are doing exactly what the sausage factory tells them to do. The sausage factory trains the next generation of polished and overly-credentialed sausage engineers.

THAT is the power of conformity. Conformity is an intelligent anaconda that has you in a death-grip.
