A Warning About Responsibility

I want to make something very clear. I teach extremely advanced and nuanced things. I am fully aware that thousands of people will misunderstand what I teach and misuse it. I knew that from day one. It is impossible to teach what I teach without it being grossly misunderstood and abused by people. However, that is not a good enough reason not to teach it. If someone misunderstands and abuses what I teach, I take no responsibility for that because I have issued so many warnings and disclaimers. Some people will use the things I teach for stupidity and evil, and that is their responsibility.

My teachings assume an exceptional degree of intelligence, responsibility, and maturity on the part of the student. I am not going to go too far out of my way to save you from yourself. There is enough rope here for you to hang yourself. That’s what freedom, truth, and sovereignty entails.

You should be very careful assuming you understand what I say. You likely misunderstand much of it. And if you act on that misunderstanding you could hurt yourself and others. That’s how serious and advanced things work. I teach very advanced, very serious things for serious adults, not immature, mentally-ill juveniles. That’s why my work is niche and not mainstream. It is not mainstream by design. It is hardcore by design, for hardcore lovers of truth.

Every single epistemic mistake you make is your responsibility, not mine. I am responsible for my epistemic mistakes, not yours.

The problem is that immature, irresponsible people — by definition — will blame the teacher or the teaching for their mistakes. Because that’s how immature and foolish people behave. And on-lookers do the same because they don’t understand the nuance of the work at all.

Everything I say should be run through your own internal filters so that when you act on it, you are not acting on my thoughts and words, you are acting on your own. Then you are fully responsible for those actions because they come from your own ideas, not mine. For example, when you take a psychedelic, it’s not because Leo told you to, it’s because you determined using your own consciousness that this is what is right for you. Then you take 100% responsibility for the consequences, and you don’t get to blame it on Leo if something goes sideways. Otherwise it’s way too convenient for you. “I’m going to be sloppy and then if things go bad, blame it on Leo.” No, no, no. That doesn’t fly with me.

You are entirely responsible for your actions and I am entirely responsible for mine. That is proper. My responsibility is towards saying truthful things, not how they are misunderstood. I go out of my way to be hyper clear in my communications to minimize misunderstanding, but it will never be enough to safeguard everyone.

You should understand that this is dangerous work we do. Jailbreaking the mind is dangerous work. How else could it be?

Also, keep in mind that I am not perfect as a teacher so there will be some mistakes in the teachings. That is normal and to be expected in any large, complex body of work. Just as science gets to claim that they are allowed to be make mistakes and always be evolving, so do I. My work is a form of science. And as you know, science is never final. What you get from me is the cutting edge of my understanding, which evolves every day. Sometimes I throw entire chunks of my understanding away in search of something even better and it could take me years to then articulate that update to you. My work is always under construction. My work is experimental, like a new medicine that you take knowing there’s some risk of the unknown. This is the nature of being on the cutting edge.

There is risk here, but it is a reasonable and responsible degree of risk which a mature mind can handle. However, an immature mind is another matter. It is hard for me to even predict or imagine how badly an immature mind could twist the things I say. My mind doesn’t even think like that. Everything that I teach assumes you are of sound mind, but given how many people are bat-shit mentally ill drug addicts, sociopaths, and perverts, I can’t account for that. The deeper I study mankind the more I realize how few humans are of truly sound mind.
