Hero's Journey: Key Points

You are not the first person to ever live. Let's not re-invest the wheel. All your problems are ones that other people have face thousands of times before. Your life will basically play out along a very predictable structure — the hero's journey. Understand this so you are prepared for what is ahead.

Your life stories will have the same elements as the hero's journey: the reluctance to start, the search for knowledge, the inevitable struggle, threshold guardians, mentors, facing your own inner demons, and sharing your wisdom with others.

The hero's journey: 1

  • Search — As the book grows large, you can still find exactly what you need.
  • Easy to edit — Lots of editing and renaming will be necessary.
  • Linking — Linking pages and notes together is invaluable.
  • Portable — Easy to carry around between home, office, and travel.
  • Backup — Easy to backup your most important work.
  • Unlimited size — Don't have to worry about it growing out of hand.
  • Copy & paste — Connected to the internet so you can copy & paste, grab snippets, embed links, etc.

Your life is really about growth, understanding, and then sharing your wisdom with others. At least that's what your life will look like if you choose to make something of yourself. If flat out refuse the journey, you will have aborted the process at step one.
