The handcuffs of resentment

The handcuffs of resentment is keeping me at bay,

Lost a lot of joy I'd say, its leaving me not okay,

To be or not to be, took awhile for me to see,

that I'd still be holding onto this is cruel,

who knew you had that effect on me, lead

me to some place I'd rather miss,

like Judas you betrayed me with a bitter kiss,

Iscariot you were my chariot, you led me to

my Calvary, the skull in bones turned to my

sanctuary

 

This matter is not so cool you say you tried but 

I say you didn't give it at all, you merely went 

through the motions and that's all you give to me,

I'm surprised it took so long and I had to go through

all I went through for me to finally see, You'll never

love me the way I love you.

 

I looked up to the path you tread, you gave me a model to 

emulate, but I'd have much rather we used time to relate,

instead of stationary platitudes I wanted emotional ship,

now the waves are crashing and my ebb and flow has dipped,

you telling me I did not live up to your standards you disown

me and the moment we ever met, I can fix it I feel inside if

you ever let

 

This matter is not so cool you say you tried but

I'm surprised it took so long and I had to go through

all I went through for me to finally see, You'll never

love me the way I love you, and that's okay with ME!!!

 

Many times I tried for forgiveness but it eluded me,

Many times I tried forgetting but it kept reminding me,

So I'll face what we built, and watch as it crumbles,

because it was never strong, the smallest force destroys it

because we never had REAL, we never had TRUTH, all we 

had was greetings and conversations without DEPTH,

So shallow was our integration from deception to nowhere

This story is a fairy tale turn it to a fable to make some use

about unrequited love and the burn, the sting, of when you

give your all and nothing returns in a time of need, so to this

I SING!!!

 

This matter is now so cool you say you tried but

It's Okay because the price of freedom is forgetting what

you did to me........ no more handcuffs of resentment!
