But we can't even grasp what Eternal Beingness is really like. Ask yourself, what kind of imagination is existence conjuring during a human's deep sleep? Then, who's to say it couldn't put itself to "sleep" in a similar fashion? I mean, real or imagined, for practical purposes it's basically non-existence.

There is no deep sleep. You just think there is. But in direct experience we just time jump.

Deep sleep is "non-esisting", and obviously non-esistence is also non-existing. So there's none.

And even if there would be some kind of non-existence it would just be experienced as a time jump because it is not existing.

Life is a filter and suffering is a filter. Like gold and river sand being sorted. When you learn some lessons or resolve your karma you become the gold.

You have a long way to go if you think you have “options.”

Be well. :)

Or maybe what you call "Deep Sleep" is right here, right now? Never not right here right now?

No objects appearing & moving = no time, that is true.

So what is it that is always here, and never can not be?

What is the timeless?

All of that works as Koan.

Why?

Because all point to your True Infinite timeless Being.

I think I get what you mean.

Just like nightly dream is suspended in Mind/No-dream-space.

Life doesn't care if you suffer. You are a soldier genetically programmed to advance. You also have software that prevents you from committing suicide. This is not kindergarten, this is war, and in case of war it is best to relax and enjoy the battle. It is a great show, intricate, full of brilliant intelligence, delving into it is of great beauty, but no one escapes its hardness.

This is my experience also. Life is war. And people who think it is not are the most roughed up by life, totally clueless and suffering or in denial. Bagavhid Gitta opening scene depicts this beautifully.

What is the alternative to finity? Infinity!

Then I got good news for you... you're already there.

Finity = infinity in drag.

@StarStruck A few ways to look at other's suffering is maybe from some eternal angle they actually chose this reincarnation. Or maybe their experience is the most sought after. Maybe we should be jealous of those who experience the worst suffering. Or maybe it is their dharma and karma.

I read "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankl. A pretty good book about Jews in concentration camps. You must find meaning in spite of suffering. You can survive any "how" if you have a good "why."
