Are Meditation Retreats A Waste of Time?

Is school a waste of time? Depends on if what you’re studying and how you’re being taught actually suits you.

The modern United States Public School System is objectively a waste of time. College is debatable and dependent on one’s study, but public schools K-12 do not teach people how to become wise adults. They just teach math, history, science and English. This alone will not make you wise.

Most people’s problems stem from lack of education in their health, psychology, finances, etc. I could have a field year with why K-12 school system is objectively futile.

“Our most valuable resource is not time, but rather it is consciousness itself. Consciousness is the basis for everything, and without it, there could be no time and no resource possible. It is only through consciousness and its cultivation that one’s passions, one’s focus, one’s curiosity, one’s time, and one’s capacity to love can be actualized and lived to the fullest.” - r0ckyreed

Of course it’s not really taught in school, because most of the teachers have health, psychological, and financial issues xD

I would then prefer to be the unhappy idiot with the mushroom experience rather than a brave yoga slave who is totally lost in hippy spiritualism. Because at least you know the real deal. That saves you a lot of time and waste of energy.

That’s not the reason. It’s because society doesn’t make it a priority. It is a systemic issue with state curriculums and boards. We are all going to face some of these issues in life no matter how prepared we are because we are going to lose our health, our mind, and finances one day.
