Tucker Carlson to interview Putin

191 posts in this topic

Putin being baffled that Tucker didn't ask any hard questions is proof that he's a smart guy who has no idea how dumb the American right has become.

It looked like he was fearing for his life not to say the wrong thing and not to ask too sharp questions. That's what you get for playing on someone else's terrain.

Honestly, interviewing Putin is kinda terrifying. If you push him too hard and make a fool out of him, he might have you poisoned just to send a message.

Imagine if you knew that I poisoned a half dozen forum members who acted out. You'd be real careful what you post.

This whole story reminds me of the The Bell and the Cat fable.

For there to be a change, someone has to do the dirty job. But nobody wants to take the risk because the consequences are severe.

Quote

The fable concerns a group of mice who debate plans to nullify the threat of a marauding cat. One of them proposes placing a bell around its neck, so that they are warned of its approach. The plan is applauded by the others, until one mouse asks who will volunteer to place the bell on the cat. All of them make excuses. The story is used to teach the wisdom of evaluating a plan on not only how desirable the outcome would be but also how it can be executed. It provides a moral lesson about the fundamental difference between ideas and their feasibility, and how this affects the value of a given plan.

Who will bell the naughty Putin cat?

The popularity of this topic suggests than an average american or european, whilst assuming that the most russians are under the clout of the russian propaganda, have no access to the truth, has turned out to be precisely that person himself.

Otherwise, how would one explain this hype from the interview? For those who've been reading non-maintream media, there's been nothing new. Even though I haven't watched the interview :D  but I'm also somewhat close-minded.

Nonetheless, all of this information has been and is available out there, if one is willing to go find and consume it. Not? It's just one is mentally closed to it.

Maybe because it's one of the only interviews Putin has given to Western media since launching his war.

After this interview Putin may think America is weaker than it actually is

Jon Stewart hit the nail on the head when he said the right are basically at war with the woke ideology, so much so that they're willing to side with Putin, an enemy of democracy, against it.

Which is kinda insane when you think about it

That has been the right's game for the last 8 years on every issue: oppose stage Green at all costs like a stubborn jackass, even if it means siding with toxic Blue and Red.

JP built his whole career on this.

The right wing has lost its mind by overracting against Green. Even Elon Musk and Joe Rogan fell into that trap.

I think it would have been a good idea for Tucker to do the interview online.

It is not as authentic, sure but it would have allowed him to press Putin far harder without fearing for his life.

Even Putin said, he was expecting harder questions.

Considering his reputation, I am not suprised Tucker was so soft on him.

Perhaps online interview would have allowed him to have way less fear of him.

What you guys think?

@Karmadhi Putin could have you poisoned around the world if you really pissed him off. It's so easy to poison someone.

Which is why Trump eats at McDonalds.

Fair point. I was referring more to just tougher questions instead of calling him a war criminal, dictator etc.

But yeah even online you have to hold back a bit.

Agreed.

Your conclusions and assumptions are very easy to debunk. How? By the facts.

Why has Putin not poisoned, let's say, Zelensky? But they've known each other from at least 2014. Not even blown him up by a missle which he could've ordered to execute plenty of time already, with a hyposonic missle of which Russia has in spades.

You'd say "that's because Ze has never really pissed Putin off".  Oh, I see. Putin is "bad", but he's veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery patient. It takes several decades to reeeeeeeeeealy piss him off :D

Why hasn't Putin poisoned some of oligarchs? Let's say, Chubais. There'll be a dozen of them like him. No one has been poisoned, Leo. No one.

Putin didn't even poison Navalny. There has been an episode, yes. Let's say, it was Putin who ordered this. Then why was this executed such that Navalny didn't die? Afterwards there were a hundred occassions to pull it off again, nonetheless.
Or maybe it wasn't Putin despite the fact the US and EU were claiming otherwise?

Why hasn't Putin poisoned, let's say, Macron or Sholtz? How about Boris Jonson? How about even Biden?

Apparently, Putin's patience is the secret. Putin's patience is what  has been protecting the poor and innocent presidents from the "unfriendly countries" around the world so far.  Right, Leo? @Leo Gura

Or perhaps, the secret is that it's Leo who throws away baseless conclusions.

Why has Putin not poisoned, let's say, Zelensky?

Because all world leaders follow strict protocols for food and drink. They are hard to poison because they were poisoned so often in centuries past.

Why hasn't Putin poisoned some of oligarchs?

He has disloyal oligarchs thrown out of windows instead.

Navalny did a video of a spoofed call with the FSB agent who poisoned him. You can find it online. In the call the FSB agent admits how they poisoned him and why it failed.

There is zero doubt that the Kremlin poisoned Navalny. We even know how.

Dude, your political takes are consistently filled with false facts or lack of knowledge of basic facts. I'm not even talking about your opinions, just your lack of awareness of the basic facts of an issue.

You don't even know of the Navalny FSB agent phone call. Go listen to it.
