Mechanics of psychedelics?

5 posts in this topic

If psychedelics decrease brain activity, why the increase in insights…(metaphysical insights mostly)?

Is it because mind activity detracts from accessing truths. — maybe a better question for the other sub forums

Source of that claim?

God-Realize, this is First Business. Know that unless I live properly, this is not possible.

There is this body, I should know the requirements of my body. This is first duty. We have obligations towards others, loved ones, family, society, etc. Without material wealth we cannot do these things, for that a professional duty.

There is Mind; mind is tricky. Its higher nature should be nurtured, then Mind becomes Virtuous and Conscious. When all Duties are continuously fulfilled, then life becomes steady. In this steady life God is available; via 5-MeO-DMT, ... Living in Self-Love, Realizing I am Infinity & I am God

Do you mean the default mode network?

I’d do a little more research on the mechanics.

Under brain scans we see the brain becoming hyper connected with this like mushrooms and DMT

@Davino @Thought Art

I was watching this video of Bernardo Kastrup (my favorite philosopher). At one point in the video he was using a metaphor comparing physical death of the body, and ego death through high dose  psychedelics. He mentioned there about the decrease in brain activity. (I just assume he was correct).

I realized it kinda makes sense. Because during meditation wouldn’t your mind activity be decreased because of the stillness, and being present, etc… you would be more open to insight

 maybe insight Doesn’t require brain activity.
