Spiritual practice that can be applied at all times

3 posts in this topic

Is there a spiritual practice that can always be applied that will in a sense get you closer to god? I’ve been studying the lessons in the course of miracles hoping to find some answers. Can you evolve and reach higher states of being by simply letting go of grievances? By staying present and letting go of thinking? Or should I give up on ideas like this and accept I’m just human and will always be subjected to the ego and will always experience life in basically the same way. I have most of what I want on an external level so there isn’t much more to hope for other than reaching a better internal state, just don’t know if this is possible

PS: the enneagram says that enneagram 9s are always trying to escape to nirvana or premature Buddhahood lol. I’m a 9 and this is how it always feels. Maybe it’s just flawed wishful thinking on my part based on trauma or my personality. I’m curious what Leo would think about this based on his experiences and expertise but anyone’s feedback is valued and appreciated

Living Now completely, using past to become wise, future to plan but don't live emotionally in those places, so make Now the primary of Your life... Accepting all that is as it is, this moment is inevitable, this stop stress response and allows Peace to be Your base state of Being which will allow higher states of realization happen more naturally.. Respond to life rather than React to Life, this brings about Your Free will more, so You can choose how to be within Yourself more easily rather than being a slave to outside situations that you have no control over.. Simple breath awareness, try to get Your natural breath cycle below 10 breaths per min, this helps allot too...

Karma Means "Life is my Making", I am 100% responsible for my Inner Experience. -Sadhguru..."I don''t want Your Dreams to come True, I want something to come true for You beyond anything You could dream of!!" - Sadhguru

The Buddha himself repeatedly stated that he is just a human and there is nothing special about him.

You most definitely can progress inwards . Get closer to god as you call it.

My way is simple:

Just sit alone with no distractions.

For as long as you have spare time for.

I found out that when you sit and say: "Now I'm meditating!" the mind only gets more agitated.

At first it felt horrible.

Really an emotional torment.

But  with time it gets more and more pleasant.

This is dangerous so do it in moderation.

It may lead to depression at first as you might feel that you simply cant stand yourself alone.

Most of the people cant.

But if you are earnest in your desire to find yourself, you will break through the barriers of loneliness and boredom.

There is much light on the other side.
