Do you hoard your favorite products?

22 posts in this topic

Do you buy multiple pieces of your favorite products in fear of it being discontinued so you won't ever be able to buy it again? I tend to buy 3-4 pieces of my most favorite products because they usually get discontinued within 1-2 years and replaced by a lower quality substitute.

Absolutely. Finding good stuff takes a lot of time and then they're discontinued. I almost always buy multiples of anything good I find.

I have like 5 Logitech trackball mice, brand new in packaging in my shelf.

I did it with a Razer mouse lol, the model I bought is not discontinued, but they made the new version shittier. I also heavily modified the mouse.

lol, me too, I have like 50 tabs still from an order I made on the deep web from like 8 years ago.

Anyone heard of "petch casey" tabs before? just out of curiosity, I bought bulk because they're supposedly high quality.

@Leo Gura I see, Logitech trackball and Microsoft ergonomic are still in production though at normal prices from what I just looked up? Newer models obviously but design seems to have stayed the same?

The shape and quality of the product usually changes with every new version and most of the time for the worse.

A good idea is to wait when a new model releases and buy the old one in bulk for clearance prices.

Nice, I thought I was crazy for doing this.

I bought a sick pair of jeans that look and fit so well that I had to buy a second pair. I’ve been complimented wearing them multiple times.

I’ll buy a third pair if you like, subscribe, hit that bell icon, and leave a comment.

I wish I would buy some shoes a lot. There are a lot of shoes that I like in the past that had been discontinued. I wish I buy it a lot back then. You don't find such good looking shoes anymore.

I would also want to buy my back then camera but it has been discontinued. I don't like newer versions very much because I have to learn how to use it all over again.

Be careful when hoarding shoes and clothes as your fashion style and body shape may change over the years.

I bought a spare $100 pair of Adidas shoes 10 years ago and I don't like the style anymore. Also, my feet are now wider and the shoes don't fit me anymore.

However, I have started hoarding functional merino wool clothing from one particular local brand that I like. It is super versatile and the prices are going up like crazy.

Yeah, I got myself a few pairs of Asics gel venture 8's a couple of years ago. They're relatively cheap, high quality, comfortable, and don't wear out under 500km (~310miles) of use. Sadly I'm on my last pair and they have been discontinued, not looking forward to finding the next pair that works for me.

Adidas Terrex are literally the same. Cheap, comfortable and they last very long.
