At what point does someone just have to accept Depression may be permanent?

Wow, two years....  Hope you can figure things out with common therapy then. Therapy can allow you to be conscious of your situation and provide insight on where you could move forward. However lots of life experiences are required to excercise new sets of beliefs and feelings about yourself. Strong relationships will surely be a plus.

Depression is often a catalyst/precursor for awakening.. it's just not well understood.

I would recommend taking mushrooms over anti-depressants though I've had both.

Any chance of mushrooms causing me to get worse?

In my experience mushrooms can mirror your overall state. If you're pressurized and feel down all the time, they will act like a mother - caring, but not influencing. They will keep you company so to say.

But if you take a high enough dose it can lead to a breakthrough, paradigm shift, trauma release and insight into something deeper than yourself. I see that as a way to get out - caring for a higher cause whatever it winds up being for you.

Overall small doses are beneficial for short-term therapy done for oneself. Start small, build up, and consider how it will be the same path, accelerated by a drug.
