Understanding the nazi mind

394 posts in this topic

Nazism takes root in radicalized minds, it's not that people become radicalized because they adopt Nazi ideology. I recently read a book by a former Nazi that explains this. It’s a process similar to that of terrorists and other extremist ideologies. It’s highly likely that any given Nazi, had they been born in Afghanistan, would have become a suicide bomber. The mental structure is the same, they have radicalized minds, see the world in black and white, are highly charged emotionally, and don’t stop to consider the shades of gray.

The reason false ideas can have tremendous power is because they can penetrate the subconscious and become an experiential reality.

Nazism is a majestic move of inversion of values and their promotion: delusion instead of truth, hate instead of love, violence instead of understanding.
Nazism flips the coin: instead of wanting truth we delude, instead of loving our neighbors we hate them based on their race, and instead of understanding them we genocide and annhilate them.
In this sense nazism represents the opposite of the true, the loving, the understanding. Basically the inverse of God, which is satan.

Nazism (the OG Hitler kind), believe it or not, is actually rooted in the philosophical assumption of idealism, i.e. matter is made out of mind. Which is why Hitler, even towards the end of the war, was so sure that the war could be turned around by some miraculous offensive or wonder weapons, and has put so much importance on purging generals who weren't 100% idealogical. He basically believed that if the whole nation collectivelly believes something to be possible, that it would become a reality. Which is also why regular german soldiers did not surrender and kept defending to the last man. Just find it interesting that even people on this site, and everyone badically, is just a few steps/beliefs away from being nazis

@NewKidOnTheBlock Nazism is an ideology grounded in self deception and self bias. It isn't the same as idealism, idealism would say that race is a mental construction, which is what it actually is, however nazis see race as an objective fact grounded in external reality, genetics... Nazism is closer to materialism than idealism for this matter.

Well of course it's not the same as idealism, but Hitler used that idea and of course twisted it as he saw fit. Nazism was a religion and a cult, it is fairly difficult to subscribe to materialist paradigm and be religious at the same time

@NewKidOnTheBlock I disagree, religious people are almost all materialists. In the sense that they believe in an objective external reality.

Also to study a Nazi Mind Study a mind that looks just for Self Servient Moves

All this being do is based on what makes he wins, no matter if he used to value on thing in one moment and later started to value the total opposite.

Victor Orban for example

Idealism nor materialism does not inherently claim that there is no external reality, that would be solipsism. Idealism just claims that everything is made out of mind/consciousness. You can still believe in God as the ultimate perceiver (as an external force outside of yourself) or in objective idealism for example like Hegel did. Etc. etc. Hitler replaced the idea of God with mythical concepts such as Aryan race, "Volk" etc. effectively making it a religious cult
