@ProblemSolving how does nofap help? I dont have problems with any of the things you suggested. one thing i do want to work on though is enlightenment. you have any idea how nofap may help?

Just research about Semen retention and how many inspiring personalities actually did that. Sexual energy is by far the strongest human energy, if you are able to transform it you will have the energy to achieve anything. You think you don't need to put energy and effort into enlightenment work? Then you are doing something wrong.

priorities change when you do nofap. you dont waste time on watching porn and masturbating so you can focus on other things. energy you have is used somewhere else. i dont know too much about enlightenment but for me it kinda was a synonym for the mind to become one with nothingness. so if you erase a certain dirty habit in your daily routine you might get closer to it.

You guys should learn about Injaculation and other sexual taoist teachings like the deer exercise and million dollar point. Great stuff :)

I read this book once called: The Tao of Sexology - The book of infinite wisdom talks about all this stuff and even surprises me i read this book maybe 8 years ago and now just skimmed through it and talks about all this stuff not sure how i had forgotten :P

When googling this topic, I find the vast majority saying that musturbation is healthy, and several that says it prevents prostata cancer. Actually, I can't find a single article that does not say it's a good thing, and that one should do it often, expect for on some discussion forums.

Hard to be convinced to do nofap by that. Some mainstream medias actually present articles showing less masturbation by certain groups as a negative thing.

Wanna adress the points in theis video?

The thing about this is that it's just assertions from both sides, and the side against no-fap is so overwhelmingly larger, and seem to have more references to science.

Like everything in life it is all relative. When I fap everyday I kinda lose motivation to meet women in real life. When I completely abstain from fapping I will get so horny that it is just a matter of a few weeks till I get to know somebody.

I am not representing anyone, I just said how it works for me. Everyone has a unique mind and a unique fap habit. But in the end it all comes down to ones desire to change. There are people who are fine staying in their comfort zone and there are others who have a drive to discover new ways of living and theres nothing wrong about both ways of living. I used to be happy in my comfort zone but now I really want to see how I can change my relationship towards people, making a career in a field that is far from what I am doing now, change my self-perception etc. 

I am not saying that nofap is the way to go. I just think its a great way to change a small thing in order to have the confidence to change even bigger things. Right now I aim a little too high saying that I will not fap anymore. I will do someday, obviously, in 2-3 weeks. But for now I let my discipline show its warface. When I will have the habit that I fap like 1-2 times a week, I think thats fine. But first I want to discover a few new things by breaking an old habit.

Probably because the scientists themselves are biased and addicted to it, like 99% of our western "male" :ph34r:

  • Stay off the computer or phone except for a dedicated task like banking, work, school work, email, texting, checking nofap, checking the news, etc. and then log out.
  • If you are surging stay off the computer or phone completely.
  • Do not mindlessly surf the web because you will eventually click on a trigger.
  • Wear thick pants with a belt.
  • Go to bed only when you are about to sleep.
  • Get out of bed immediately after waking.
  • Beer, wine, liquor and pot: avoid these until you have solid control of your fappy impulses.

 

Mental Motivation

  • Remember why you are doing this.
  • Acquiring that strong sense of self-pride and being able to look people in the eye.
  • There will never be a day when fapping to porn will leave you happy and fulfilled.
  • Remember how shitty you feel right after you fap.
  • Remember that as your pleasure centres rewire you will start enjoying the experiences of your life more vividly.
  • If you fap then you are training yourself to be mediocre.
  • If you fap then prepare to lose your manliness.
  • When you fap then your sex life is watching other people have sex. This trains your brain to be a beta male.
  • If you fap you will numb yourself to your life and you will never have a hope of completing yourself.
  • A fraction of the women in porn are leading abused lives. You don 't want to contribute to the harm of another person.
  • Porn and fapping makes you look at woman in the wrong ways. You don't want to be that guy.
  • People can sense you are a beta male when you fap. They know.
  • When you don't fap you will become more alpha. Alpha doesn't mean aggressive douchebag, I know buddhist monks and lay meditators who are very alpha and very good people at the same time.
  • Don't do nofap to get a women in your bed, do it for yourself.
  • Remember that if if you don't have ED you will eventually get it.
  • Remember that if you have ED then nofap will cure it (if there are no underlying medical issues).
  • You will have the freedom of not worrying about your browser history.
  • You will have the freedom of not having that second, hidden, fappy personality.
  • You will have a more sensitive and normal genital response (i.e. no more death grip/death schlick syndrome).

 

Improve Your Commitment

  • Acknowledge to yourself that you have a problem, an addiction even.
  • Make a public commitment to stop fapping (for most of us this is an anonymous but public commitment like here on nofap, for some it could be a trusted buddy or your SO).
  • if you have an accountability partner, call or text them when you are surging.
  • Mark out your nofap days on a calendar ('x' out each day with a coloured marker, if you relapse then 'x' out each subsequent day of your new streak using a different coloured marker). It doesn't have to be paper, I use my iPad calendar for example.
  • ... but remember that every day is Day 1 no matter how high your counter is.
  • Also post your progress on nofap every so often. Post daily if you are going through a rough patch.
  • "Low fap" does not work, cold turkey is the best way to go.
  • Go to nofap and help others.
  • Meditation.
  • Identify your triggers (stress, anxiety, boredom, some kind of perceived failure) and realize that a fap session will not help.

     

Trick Of Last Resort

  • Cold showers.
  • For some, cold showers are too traumatic. If so, then wash your unit with a cold face cloth until the urge passes. Some fapstronauts have suggested that washing your face in cold water may also work.
  • If you are not doing hard mode then get your woman or man to "relieve" your tension.

Im curious is it very different from day 14 onward? Because I heard that is the time it needs to completely get rid of the aftereffects of orgasm.
So far I did 13 days last month and am now on day 10 but this time I felt all troughout like I can keep it going for ever, like I can stay celibate forever the book Cupids Poisoned Arrow really helped me alot too see how bad orgasm actually is in general.
