Undecided whether to pursue life experience or isolate and discover Truth?

There is harm in getting stuck in a dream. The harm is suffering, decay, pain and eventually death, on repeat, for thousands of lifetimes. Harmful enough? That's why non-perfect teachers like Leo are extremely dangerous. They give you conceptual truths and glimpses through drugs, but don't awaken you, giving you a false sense of accomplishment, which leads you to sleep without waking up, without a sense of hurry or clear path home, hence more lifetimes of suffering, both physical and mental, sometimes very extreme, as you have definately experienced, likely millions of times throughout your lives. So yeah, not that good of a teacher.

Nevermind, I read a thread you started. I guess you believe that isolation/ withdrawal from this crazy world is key. Thats what I’m being pulled towards as well. It takes commitment and iron will to commit though. There’s such a strong will to belong, to achieve, to do.

I like one thing you mentioned in your thread, that you will eventually be repulsed by the people and things you looked to for fulfillment. This is so true. Im experiencing this right now in my dilemma. I Enjoy boxing but im so tired of the repetition, of being yelled at, being told what to do at work and then at the gym 24/7, same shit day in and day out. Living up to expectations.  Especially when I know the Truth with a capital T. It all seems like a waste of time. All that effort and blood and sweat literally for a waste of time! But it’s so fun!! Hehehe

What is your approach to life/ awakening?

Realizing that you are your greatest teacher. Also your greatest roadblock.

Nobody is stopping you, but you.

@NineHfanbase yeh, total commitment is what awakens. Did like 30 trips, many solo reatreats lasting weeks, but that's not enough. You need to go full monk mode for years to wake up. Cutting of everything else is also key. No entertainment, music, sexual acts or thoughts, relationships, no fancy clothing, jewels, perfumes, etc. Basically throw away everything this mesmerizing illusion offers, by realising it is really nothing and meditate.

Just gonna give you my schedule, that pretty much sums it up.

Today is different though, going out to buy a watch with a timer so I wouldn't ever need to touch my phone. It's a tool of the devil if you really want to awaken.

Not to yuck your yum here, but isn’t meditation also something this wonky illusion offers?

Interesting. Do you have any thoughts that you’ll look back at life when you’re 60 and dwell on wasted opportunity/ relationships that might have been cool to experience? Or do you ever think that you can live life as ego now, and worry about awakening when you’re older and been there/ done that?

Dwelling on wasted opportunity at any age is problematic. It’s also wise to not put so much blame on yourself.

For example, if you’re diagnosed with a rare medical condition that even doctors have a difficult time treating, should you dwell and beat yourself up over that?

How you respond to your unique circumstances is what really matters here. Judging yourself keeps you stuck in victimhood.

I wish I was never born in a religious system.

I wish I was never indoctrinated with conservative beliefs.

I wish the school system didn’t fail me.

I wish the mental healthcare system didn’t fail me.

I wish that I wasn’t born with a severe eczema.

I wish that I was never bullied by my family and schoolmates growing up.

I wish that I wasn’t a minority in a the US.

I wish I didn’t allow other people to dictate my life.

I wish I wasn’t obedient and learned to follow my intuition more.

————-

All of this wishing can be let go of if you really want to. That does NOT mean you have to give up your life and run away from the world. You can embrace the world and yourself. If you need some time to isolate, go do it. But I urge you not to commit your entire life to isolation.

Duality and Non-duality are ONE!

You may now kiss the bride 👰‍♂️

You don’t think you’re underestimating the pull the ego world has? The ego world wasn’t designed in such a way that you can be a passive observer. If you don’t partake in the games you’ll be treated like an outsider. The pull is strong.

No. Meditation brings you to the eternal, abstract, formless, invisible spirit, hence healing you little by little, whilst the illusion is changing, specific, visible and temporary. You are very confused.

I've had it all. I've lived a very fortunate life in the usual sense, including looks, partners, financial freedom, friends, travel, and so on. The last lifetime is usually like that, you get the final taste of everything that this world has to offer, you chew it, find it disgusting and spit it out.

You are not wise until you know that you can't search for pleasures through the body and not find pain. They are one and the same. There is never pleasure without a backlash of pain in the illusion. When you know it, the ego is done for.

Statistically, you will not succeed, you will probably not be able to withstand some of your desires and will spiral into dark night of the soul experience. I couldn't kill my desire for being artistic. I also tought the same. I couldn't find a good enough method, but I also didn't search enough.

Kalabhairaba (god of destruction) and some hindu scriptures recommend that you only live for truth and find it while you are in this birth, if you can of course.

I don't perceive it that way, in fact I think it would be something limiting. I see that awakening deeply to the nature of reality in moments of solitude and meditation must be combined with the most perfect synchrony possible in mundane reality, in relationships with others and external reality, since this reality is internal too, everything is. the clock must function precisely, dance in this movement that is occurring, synchronize with the external and be one

Maybe. Will see.

No. Don't stop learning until you change your mind. The illusion is the creation of the Devil himself, the one that is in your mind. This world and ego ar in kahoots. They work together to trick you and hurt you as much as they can until, hopefully, you die and forget what they have done. Wisen up, you have work to do. Read ACIM by Jesus and DU by Gary Renard/Apostles. They're the only true teachers.

I agree, meditation is great. Not saying not to do it, but I just don’t see it as something that needs to be practiced outside what you consider the “illusion”.

No. Ego is confusion. God is perfect clarity.
