Is getting a root canal safe

12 posts in this topic

I had a meeting with dentist and I had been told to get a root canal for one tooth. I had years before done a root canal on one of my other tooth and its still there and I am not aware of any health issue coz of that.  But now am seeing a lot of people talking about health issues after doing root canal for years and when they removed tooth fully they where free from it. So are root canal safe, if not are there any other option?

I have never experienced anything after it. And why would it be unsafe? removing a tooth should be more "dangerous" than a root canal and virtually nobody complains about anything after doing it. People tend to exaggerate things when they are obsessed with health.

"Nobody complains" is an exaggeration in itself.

I meant chronic stuff after doing the procedure. But In fact, removing teeth can cause some serious heart inflammation in people with weak immunity.

Do it and see what happens.

One time an old gentleman was sharing a story about how he’d gotten 4 root canals. He felt absolutely nothing during and after the procedure, only that his back was in pain from lying down a long time.

I heard a lot of bad stuff about root canals.

It seems like dead tissue is left inside the body and creates continuous toxicity.

I would investigate the procedure alot before deciding to do it.

Yes, no problem. Just use a good dentist.

Get all-ceramic crowns.

@Nabd My wisdom tooth has a cavity that is pretty deep. But it doesn't hurt at all, unless I poke around. And my dentist says that it is not recommended to perform root canal on wisdom teeth. Is that correct?

I had to get a root canal done on one of my teeth 3ish years ago, I had to pay stupid money for a top specialist to do it because my teeth roots are at right angles which average dentists don't want to touch with a ten foot pole.

I've had absolutely no issues since. Root canals are generally pretty safe operations. Worst case is that it doesn't work, then you can just get the tooth removed and get an implant.
