Phoenix Progress

1 post in this topic

One thing I've noticed is my spiritual growth is constant rising and falling. From hope to despair, to hope to despair..

I've been trying a find a way to rise constantly without falling but after my last fall I realized that even though I've fallen so much before, I've advanced a lot...so maybe failure is alright.

Maybe real progress can be made not in focusing on your success, but at that critical threshold where you fall, give up.
Progress in falling and rising.
getting better at getting back up on your feet when you fall, when you've failed once more to do what you wanted, whether it is to get out of a habit, to get a hold of a certain emotion or negative thought.
I once saw someone describe spirituality as two steps forward and one step back.

To live and die,  each time you lose hope and regain it, to rise from your ashes like a phoenix.

I guess it's a post about accepting failure, not only as a part of life, but a part of your being, it might be the very way you work, to achieve and to fail, but you have to be able to be conscious enough to see that beyond the failure you're still advancing, that you're advancing thanks to the failure, that it serves a function.

so to be able to see the worth in failure, and despair, to not be afraid of these things. the better you accept the feelings, the more you can learn from them and move on. That to me is the picture of a spiritual being having a human, all encompassing of all the emotions, we try avoid our bad feelings, maybe we should just see them in another way.

but for that you have to truly see, that failure is a essential part of growing up instead of something holding you back
