what happens after stopping Microdosing

5 posts in this topic

I'm very curious about trying microdosing but I'm dubious about whether any improvements experienced during microdosing would persist or go away after I stop doing it.

Have you done microdosing and then stopped? when you stop did you lose your superpowers? did you experience any withdrawal symptoms?

I'm thinking about mushrooms microdosing in particular since that's the only psychedelic I have safe access in my area. My main goal is to be more stable emotionally since some days I become sad and negative

I invite you to feel the feelings rather than attempt to medicalize them. There is nothing wrong with feeling sad or negative. If I can be pedantic, sad and negative are ideas, not feelings. One place to start is in bringing your attention to how you actually FEEL in the body when experiencing what you call sadness and negativity.

What are these feelings pointing to? What are they trying to tell you? Can you realize them as part of the wholeness of your being?

Emotional stability does not come from running from challenging emotions, rather it comes from meeting with them, transmuting them, and integrating then. Healing literally means "to make whole."

@halfknots When I am a little sad I like to microdose to feel the sadness more consciously. It allows me to just sit there in the dark, embracing all my sadness. I embrace it so much that it actually feels good in a way. After around an hour of being sad I start feeling better again just like a child.

Psychs make you less stable not more stable. More aware yes but definitely not more stable. Like if you want to amplify your emotions and feel them more deeply it’s the right tool but if you are taking it to manage them and control them you are going to be disappointed.

It's used for long term therapy so it can work to make long time improvements. But you dont change your behavior by taking it once. I really do get superpowers very frequently from it but I take very little of it with me the next day and for long term behavior change you have to do it a lot I think. It's not addictive and I never experienced withdrawals but your behavior does change when micro dosed. I become very reckless and insanely honest on it so I can make dumb decisions for my life. Also when you feel very sad and anxious it can actually increase when microdosing. When it's medium sad and anxiousness it mostly goes away. Thats how it is for me at least. It's great for reflecting and figuring out where the sources of unhappiness in your life come from. But it can also confuse you when you dont integrate your trips because you rotate between very different perspectives. And also when you push yourself a lot through this substance you can do things far outside your comfort zone which challenges you a lot. I fell into the trap that I was ashamed of my social anxiety then took the substance, had insane charisma and wanted to give other people the impression that that is me and became more socially anxious when I didn't took it because I couldn't replicate that charisma. I now tell everyone when I am high which might change things.

All in all for me it's a tool that opens a lot of doors and has incredible potential but it's not an instant or reliable fix and you need to be willing to work on your problems sober. That work can simply be empowered with microdosing.
