Two nights ago i had two nightmares that woke me up

one included a spider

and in one i was travelling, then sitting on the beach with a group of people in the evening/night. Then we went into the sea and a group of sharks attacked us. Some got taken by sharks. I think i survived it but was very scared of losing a limb and woke up.

fun fact also one of my first memories of my life if not my first, was a nightmare when i was about 3 years old, i remember the nightmare and how i woke up from it and how people told me its just a dream etc

I still remember a few dreams from my childhood even though I forgot most of my childhood life. One was going to a house in the sky and accidentally falling from there straight into my bed. Another one was a poster turning into a real life character and chasing me in the night.

I expected to have insomnia again but in fact I was able to fall asleep for a few hours, I had the worst nightmares ever.

The strongest image I remember was a human body without legs, shaped like bones/tendons like in a scanner, and so the trunk consisted of a monstrous face reveling (but with a look mechanical, not sadistic, oddly enough) of a large, very fresh and bloody piece of meat from a mercilessly killed animal. I don't remember the other parts of the dream, but it revolved around the terrifying possibility of being tortured/shredded to death in the worst possible pain.

I also dreamed that I was being robbed and that I had to defend my house with two guns that I didn't know how to work.

i hate my brain

I can relate to these types of images and scenarios, they play out in some of my dreams as well. What I have come to understand or am trying to understand recently is that even though this can be quite disturbing, even confusing as to why this is what the subconscious is revealing in the dream state, there is a reason. Whatever it may be. If its past lives or trauma or even just our brains and inner being somehow healing itself in this way. I am not certain at this point, but I do feel better when I allow it, reflect on it, pray about it and contemplate it. In this way of approaching this darkness it has stopped the dreams for now. Hopefully this would help you to not hate it but to put some love into it and contemplate it. Peace and Love!

Being high in adrenaline/cortisol increases the prevalence and intensity of nightmares.
