Are Scandinavian countries and Canada really more evolved than America?

Sure they would, to some degree.

Any country will regress if you stress them enough. Each country has its unique soft points.

Well, then perhaps Scandinavia isn't necessarily more developed than the US. Just different like you're saying.

I'd say it is more developed by a bit. Not by a lot.

What about Canada, the rest of Western Europe, and Australia compared to the US?

The US is held back a bit by bottomless capitalism and the religious right. If the US transcended those two, we'd be the most developed.

For sure. We also have to transcend the systemic racism we still have in this country.

Them vs Us. That's what's holding the US back significantly as well, your entire political and media system is designed to heighten, incentivize, and reflect an exaggerated duality as much as possible. Where the loudest and the most polarizing gain the most benefits from the least work. Social media and even internet searches have only reinforced this method of operating, pushing the most dramatic, most controversial, or most eye-catching thing to the top of people's notice.
