They seem to. Belief disempowers contemplation.

It’s not belief. It’s creation.

Leo says we have don’t have free choice or 100 percent free will is there a chance we do? What would be the argument?

Of course we do.  Don't you have free choice in a video game?

It's inventing stuff that covers up one's fundamental ignorance. Why not generate wonder instead?

If you don't know, that's the best place to start as wonder naturally arises from that place. No reason to question if in your mind you consider you already know the "answers."

Enlightenment is child’s play at some point

You are really obsessed with enlightenment.

@UnbornTao Disbelief empowers contemplation.

@vibv Both things aren’t necessarily contradicting each other.

It's the same domain, believing and disbelieving.

Adopting beliefs isn't helpful when it comes to an open inquiry.

Better to ask yourself what you are really conscious of, and to remind oneself not to pretend.

More like my own investigations, and then some hearsay by Krishnamurti.

Making up stuff is damaging to an open investigation.

One that is grounded is able to tolerate being real and being pretend. There’s flexibility in that, depending on what the situation calls for.

Why ?

Should we instead be obsessed with that ghost in your pfp ??

Krishnamurti as well has a similar approach.

Yes, at least what is under the cloth can be anything you imagine it to be.

Or you can simply see a ghost. Up to you.

I don't see how there is any chance at all. When I open my eyes I see the world around me and I can't really do anything about that in the moment it happens. I open my eyes and my mind renders a visual landscape whether I want it to or not. No matter how hard I will my eyes to fail, or my mind to not render a visual landscape, it does it.

I personally think Krishnamurti has some pretty decent hearsay.

@OldManCorcoran Put hand over your eyes and let’s see what happens then.

That is irrelevant and I expected that but didn't bother to preface. The point is not that you can gouge out your eyes and blind yourself, but that when your eyes are working correctly and are exposed to the world, the world renders irrespective of whether you want it to or not.

When certain conditions are in place certain things happen and the person doesn't have a say in it.

In order to move in the direction of what's true -- in every way, honesty is the main practice.

So I would endorse authenticity and not pretense.

He's got good stuff.

Perhaps I should have clarified: it is communication coming from an individual that for me is hearsay until personally validated in experinece.

There are simply things you would not be able to personally validate for yourself, at least if you are human.

For example, if one person is cisgender + heterosexual and another is transgender/LGBT. The cisgender could not possibly fathom changing their gender, nor would they ever want to. It doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s inauthentic and a pretense to be transgender. But to the cisgender their bias would certainly give them the authority to say it is such.
