Views on suicide

It is said that God is unconditional love, yet in religions and spiritual concepts, they speak of punishment or negative karma after suicide...
What kind of God would punish a person a second time who was already suffering too much to end their life?

I don't find any positive view on suicide in spirituality / religions... Why ? So we are here, some of us suffer deeply almost/all their life and they don't have the right to end their suffering without bad consequences ?

A loving God would provide comfort to a person who took their own life because they needed love the most.

No God would never ever punish any of what you have said. Forget all religions kick all of them out the window.

I can promise you that it CAN and WILL get better – again, speaking from personal experience. There is light at the end of the tunnel. But sometimes you can't do it alone.

Amen.

Hell is forgetting that heaven exists. The good news is that it's nothing but a trick that the mind plays on itself, not actual reality.

To answer your question, based on some limited research, organized religion as a social construct serves a function of bringing people together. Therefore "banning" suicide is a measure for greater social cohesion. That is from the perspective of a social theory of mine.

From a Christian perspective, the purpose of the religion is to "atone for your sins" which you can't do if you kill yourself. You could say the same applies to other religions like Buddhism where there is an outlined process for reaching the after life. If you kill yourself the traditions become effectively moot. There's also the perspective that "life is a gift" and therefore by killing yourself you are ruining a creation.

If you are suffering currently and struggling with suicide you should definitely try to reach out for help. As someone who has had suicidal idiations and suffered a bunch in the past, getting help can make a huge difference.

God never forgives, because sin doesn't exist, so there is nothing to forgive. Forgiveness is a concept of ego, and a dualistic notion.

1. Nothing ever happened..so what is there to forgive?

2. Duality is an illusion, so Oneness is the ABSOLUTE TRUTH so what is there to forgive when its all one being's design?

3. God loves itself unconditionally, which means whatever happens is an expression of God's love for itself.

4. And that's all folks!!!

You are a selfless LACK OF APPEARANCE, that CONSTRUCTS AN APPEARANCE. But that appearance can disappear and reappear and we call that change, we call it time, we call it space, we call it distance, we call distinctness, we call it other. But notice...this appearance, is a SELF. A SELF IS A CONSTRUCTION!!!

So if you want to know the TRUTH OF THE CONSTRUCTION. Just deconstruct the construction!!!! No point in playing these mind games!!! No point in creating needless complexity!!! The truth of what you are is a BLANK!!!! A selfless awareness....then that means there is NO OTHER, and everything you have ever perceived was JUST AN APPEARANCE, A MIRAGE, AN ILLUSION, IMAGINARY.

Everything that appears....appears out of a lack of appearance/void/no-thing, non-sense (can't be sensed because there is nothing to sense). That is what you are, and what arises...is made of that. So nonexistence, arises/creates existence. And thus everything is solved.

@Gabith I think that’s enough philosophising for now. Your thoughts about God and the ego and what you are, they are heavily coloured by depression. And these discussions are not doing anything good, except revealing depression.

I remember you from a few years back as a sweet guy, lives with his parents, in a country next to mine, struggling to date girls like everyone else here. But he was optimistic and he was going to make it. I tried helping you a bit but you didn’t want / have the equipment for calls. Then I heard nothing.

I’m telling you that I’m quite certain that you need to go back to basics. Spiritual philosophy is not helping in this phase. You need to focus on your mental health: find a nice twice-a-week therapy arrangement, I’m happy to recommend a good one if you’ve got a little extra money to spend, otherwise just take what the government provides for free, and simple aspects of happiness like work you enjoy and positive friends.
