I've been dieting for a couple of weeks witnessing just how much 2000/2500 calories worth of food looks like. There's no way somebody has a natural inclination to ever eat this much. So what is it really? Junk food? Sugar? added sugar? trans-fats? oils? bread & wheat?

All of the above, with the exception of properly formulated breads such as Ezekiel.

People are overfed because they are undernourished. Ultimately this does boil down to chronic caloric surpluses, but the resolution is not to confine oneself to a calorie-restricted prison, but rather, to emphasize food quality, and food quantity will naturally handle itself. What is considered "food" in 2023 is truly abominable, and myriad examples entailing bags, boxes, cans, and containers, are truly perverse and poisoning humanity. Big Food corporations are selling you the problem, and Big Pharmaceutical companies are attempting to sell you the solution. Have you ever appreciated the elegance of how pharmacies are situated inside supermarkets (saying this as a pharmacist myself)?

Processed, packaged foods have hijacked our body's satiety mechanisms, and because these Frankenfoods are fundamentally devoid of the nutrients our body yearns for, we fail to feel satiated when consuming them. The solution is to ship at the perimeter of your grocery store of choice, opting for whole, minimally processed foods.

What about beef, beef is also packaged which means processed. If we're going to go this far.

@Sidra khan as a friendly reminder: please dont spam this forum too much with emojis.

We dont have a like Button but if you like something, you dont need to write that so that everyone sees that you like it. Because that creates no value for the reader. We are here not for validation/attention seeking but for truth seeking.

If you still like a post and you want to let the poster know this you can write him an pm.

Thanks

@Sidra khan  it's against forum rules to post low content. you can use emojis how often you like in your posts, it's just one Single emoji in one post is not contributing much for the reader

It's like you're stopping me from being myself.  This is how I'm in real life, I'm a listener not a talker and I love giving response in the form of smile/ laughter/validation/compliment. Em️ojis perfectly suits me. I love them. Seek the truth no one is stopping you. If you've problem with my emojis put me in the ignore list. Plus I'm not going against any forum rules. If you ask me not to use emojis again I'll leave the forum instead. I am Not going to stop using them.  SOrrY!!!

You are being very rude and stubborn. I've noticed it too. Doing it once in awhile won't be as noticeable as if you're doing it on 90% of your responses. It's not about putting you on the ignore list as a moderator he has the responsibility to moderate the forum. Ignoring a user is not moderating. It's ignoring, which defeats the whole purpose.

You got on my case when I made a few rants that weren't directed at you and you unfollowed me because you said you didn't like my attitude and ranting because of the energy and vibe that was disturbing to you. Now, look at your being disrespectful because a moderator trying to engage with you and kindly and you responded also with a brief rant. You also got on my case when I called out The Redeemer and his disturbing posts about violence against women (which hasn't happened since, BTW), saying I should have did it privately. Why didn't you say what you said here privately.

I'm saying what I'm saying here to show you why I was still kind to you after you criticized and judged me because you were just projecting your shadows unto me and i was well aware of that. So, I tried to be the bigger person and i also apologized for my rants anytime I made them on the forum because I was also aware that I was projecting my shadows.

You took my rants personal because I ranted against your forum buddies and you didn't like it. Not because I ranted, but who I was ranting at. I know that. But that's not the issue here. What you said in your response, made no sense, and saying you will leave the forum for something as silly as overuse of emoji responses is just silly. You say you're a listener not a talker but you sure had plenty to say just now. Apart from a few random threads you've started, this is the most I've seen you commented using words and it was to be disrespectful. No one cares if you leave the forum so your threat to leave if you're being asked nicely to stop doing something as silly as this, says something more about you and how easily swayed you are in letting other people make decisions for you.

As with calories, trolling and jokes has its limits. They are all useful to a certain extent.

Too many calories and you’ll run into health problems. Too many jokes and you’ll be a fool.

Wait!l Let me go back and count how many times you have mentioned that unfollowing thing? ?

You know what rejection hurts. ;)

Put me in jail please.

:D

Lol. Rejection? How's somebody unfollowing me regarded as rejection. I can think of other ways of feeling hurt than someone unfollowing me on a public forum that only uses emojis as responses. I'm still trying to process the rejection comment. Girl, this shit ain't personal. Don't flatter yourself. I'm done now. No need to comment any further on this as I've said enough before this gets out of hand.

You have discussed the same unfollowing thing once again! ? Don't worry time is the best healer.

Do you know why you're stopping me from commenting further? Because you don't have the ability to stop arguing. In other words you can't detach yourself from arguments. If I want to end the argument I won't ask you to stop, I'll take the responsibility and will let go of the urge to respond.

Bonus point!

This guy " :D " is more powerful than "lol"

I was referring to myself when I said no need to comment any further. I meant I don't need to comment any further and I'm only commenting now to make a clarification.

I think everyone on the forum notices. It was probably brought to light because of it's excessive use.

It's very easy to eat 2500 calories in 24 hours. I constantly have to watch my calories because if I didn't I would overeat and would gain a lot of weight.

There's a subreddit called volume eating that you should look up if you want to try to maximize the amount of food you eat while minimizing calories.

All animal species evolved in an environment of scarcity so here we are living in an environment of abundance and our genetic makeup still believes we're in the Stone Age and are going to starve so we have these biological cravings that can be very hard to resist. I don't blame or judge people for being overweight to be honest. There's a lot of neurotic dna-driven aspects to our species that need a few thousand more years of evolution or some genetic engineering to fully sort out.

Actually I am at the other end of this, bad appetite and even though I prepare a lot of food for myself I don't end up eating it all. I just wanted to explore this other side to see If I can benefit from it. I came to a conclusion that ultra processed foods like burgers and pizza are just a lot easier to over eat or eat at all for that matter, then whatever lentil vegetable soups I'm making right now. And I'm not there either, I have plans to start adding beef/red meat as well, about 150g per day for 3 days, then 2 eggs for 3 days, and then sardines. I meal prep about 3 days worth of food.

I once got typhoid after eating beef for two months straight, I had no other option, it was after Eid ul Azha when our fridge is full of beef. Also I've experienced a lot of other small health issues with beef now I avoid it completely.

Beef is a superfood and that is quite unfortunate for you, I'm sorry to hear that. I eat one pound every day.

I haven't taken a day off work due to sickness in over 4 years, I sleep for 8+ hours straight nightly, have reversed a number of medical conditions that have no recognized medical cure (such as eosinophilic esophagitis) and am able to engage in and recover from daily weight training sessions.

The highway back to optimal health for me was one paved with a lot of red meat, albeit, more importantly, the absence of industrial seed oils. Unfortunately, saturated fat and cholesterol are abominably misunderstood, and this misunderstanding has potentiated myriad misconceptions about the role of red meat in fostering optimal human health.

Gotcha. What is your current height and weight if you don't mind sharing? I am 5'9, 175 lbs for reference. I was 150 lbs when I began weight training. I found that engaging in resistance training greatly augmented my appetite.

Red meat and eggs are divinely healthy, and meal prep can be quite useful. Do you digest dairy effectively (that is another superfood) such as whole milk, cheese and Greek yogurt?

Just barely 5'8, 121 lbs

So far I found that sleep deprivation decreases my appetite significantly and body weight exercises (the only thing I can do right now) increase my appetite but It still isn't enough for me to eat 2000 calories daily. Certain foods are easier for me to eat than others and I'm thinking of switching up my diet for the ones that I can eat more of. I meal prep 3 days worth of food.

I don't like cheese or milk

This is one out of 2-3 diets I have, I'm probably going to change it dramatically once I have the time, I don't have a lot of rules. Lots of vegetables, whole-grains and nuts with either eggs, beef, lean chicken or sardines. Rice is a lot easier to eat than beans or lentils but it contains very little nutrients comparatively.
