Yesterday and today I:

  • Worked on writing short film
  • Finished "The art of learning" by Josh Waitzkin
  • Watched "Lost in Translation"
  • Went to class
  • Studied for exam
  • Ran 3 miles

I had 3 classes and had to study for test today :( no time for working on screenplay. I did some work yesterday tho. I worked on speed reading techniques. I read The Art of Learning which was 250ish pages in like 3-4 hrs or around a 600WPM avg. I have a lot of school work in the next few days. 2 essays.

I watched this yesterday. Overrated. It was made by sofia coppola, daughter of francis ford coppola. Scarlet johannsan was 18 here and bill murray was pushing 60 so it was a little odd.

^^ I feel this

UGHHH. I had a huge ego backlash and backslide this past month. I keep falling into a cycle of doing good for a few months then i start self sabotaging and falling back into addictions and low consciousness habits for a month then repeat. Ive smoked weed everyday for the past month and ive barely gone to class. Its ok, i should still be able to pass everything, i just need to get back on my shit.

I need to fully drop my victim mindset and actually take responsibility. Take small steps everyday to get back on track.

Today i will:

  • Study for logic quiz
  • Meditate for 10 mins
  • Do 10 pushups
  • Read 10 pages

Today I: Finished my ancient philosophy final essay and went to class.

Grrrr I hate school. The past few days have been nothing but doing schoolwork and watching movies. Thanksgiving break is coming up and Im finished with all my classes and go back home on december 8th. I should have more time for working on life purpose now. Main school priorities are to study for logic final and write essay for late modern philosophy final.

I rewatched this movie a couple days ago. one of my favs

I havent updated in a while. Been busy with studying for finals. I only have one major obstacle left and its the formal logic final on tuesday. I need to get at least a 50% to pass. INSHALLAH I SHALL PASS THIS CLASS!

I met a cool girl a couple days ago in the class. We had lunch and studied today. Tomorrow and basically the entire weekend, im gonna devote to studying cause if i fail this class then im kinda fucked. Next semester will be easier and then i finally graduate.

I watched this movie recently. Really profound

I havent updated in a while. Been occupied with holiday stuff. It was a good christmas. I got a lot of good books and Im also working right now so Ill have money for when I go back to college. Ive been doing another run through of the life purpose course and I should finish it by the end of the year so Ill get some good goals, resolutions, and a direction for the new year.

It was my birthday yesterday. Kind of strange. My best friends of 5+ years forgot to wish me a happy birthday yet people I havent spoken to in months or even years remembered. Always interesting to see who remembers, its not like Im sad about it but it is a little strange. Overall it was good though, I went to my grandparents and then a steakhouse.

Im starting my last semester next year. I really dont like college because I feel the minutia of going to classes and doing homework for stuff I dont really care about distracts me from my real purpose. This coming year I need to focus on not getting bogged down by unimportant shit and focus on the few things that really matter in moving my life in the direction that I want. I already have a good job lined afterwards so I dont need to stress about that.

Today I:

  • Worked on Life Purpose Course
  • Went to breakfast with mom and my sister
  • Played Minecraft + Binding of Isaac
  • Listened to Kurt Jaimungals interview with Robert Sapolsky where he claims there is no free will. Very interesting, I didnt know sapolsky was an athiest

^^^ This was a great clip. Kurt asked a incredible question that seemed to stump Sapolsky. Sapolsky claims that we are predetermined essentially by the laws of physics yet Kurt asks what is the self that can be determined by the laws of physics and how is that self seperate from the laws of physics. Free will is tricky, still have yet to grasp it. Ive had some incredible experiences on LSD where I sort of experienced the motion of my hands as effortless and happening by itself. I want to trip again but i have not had a reliable source. God willing, it will be there when i need it

Happy New Year. I went out to a bar last night with friends to celebrate. Was pretty fun. I was hungover today and did not do much. I read about 20 pages of Path of Least Resistance and listened to a Andrew Huberman podcast with David Goggins. Pretty Insightful.

Even though its just a date change, I do want to use this as an oppurtunity to start back up old habits that I let die off. I want to read, meditate, exercise, and stretch everyday. I want to read 50-100 books this year and make a few short films and finish a full screenplay.

Today I:

  • Finished up the life purpose course
  • Read some more of The Path of Least Resistance
  • Watched "The School of Rock" by Richard Linklater

I got up late today. I need to fix my sleep schedule before I go back to school. I have work the next couple of days, it shouldnt be too hard tomorrow. Tomorrow before work I want to read, do some body weight exercises, and stretch.

^^ I also watched this today. The Social Network is one of my favorite movies, not only cause of it being a great film, but also cause of the impact it had. This movie made computer science sexy. Every kid who watched this thought programming and computers were cool. It was actually one of the main reasons I first chose to major in computer science. I like this documentary cause it shows the attention to detail it takes to make a movie and what actually goes into making a seemingly simple shot.

^^ Great movie. Kind of childish but has a great message. Linklater is my all time favorite director.

Today I:

  • Read 50ish pages of Path of Least Resistance
  • Went to work
  • stretched

Work wasnt so bad today. Solid $200. My legs are sore af from standing most of the day, the stretching helped. Tomorrow is my last day at work before I go back to school. Ill drive back on the 6th and classes start the 8th. This semesters classes shouldnt be too hard so that should allow me to focus more on writing and filmmaking. My top 5 goals this year are to

1. Make 5 short films

2. Finish 2 full screenplays

3. Gain independence from parents

4. Have consistent daily improvement routines (writing, speaking, exercising + stretching, meditation, etc)

5. Develop 20 minute stand up comedy set. Im not sure if this one will be a distraction cause its a little different from all my other goals but I really want to try stand up comedy at least as a learning experience. I want to get on stage a few dozen times and there are open mic nights in tampa and surrounding towns.

Today I:

  • Went to work
  • Listened to TOE podcast with Anand Vaidya

Didnt do much today besides work. Even though I didnt exercise, I basically got a full body workout from lifting shit and standing all day at work. I made some good money over break. I should have a few thousand bucks to go back to college with. Ill probably drive back tomorrow or saturday. Tomorrow I need to pack all my stuff.

Today I:

  • Drove 18 hrs to Tampa. I took a nap in Georgia but otherwise it was a nonstop trip all night.
  • Then I slept the rest of the day

Finally got back at around noon. This is the last semester. In 119 days I will be graduated. Thank God. I listened to quite a few Actualized episodes over the drive. Spiral dynamics stage purple and red. I rewatched the episode on free will and on how to escape wage slavery.

^^^ I also rewatched this one. Probably one of, if not my favorite, and most practical episodes. Some skills/areas that I want to invest in everyday are writing, speaking, filmmaking, education, health, and spirituality.

Some things I can do everyday in these areas are:

Writing - Journal everyday. Write screenplays. Write down my thoughts and ideas and form them into a cohesive argument that can be made into a youtube video or essay.

Speaking - Record myself speaking on a topic that I write about for 15-30 minutes a day. I did this a decent amount last year but I need to be more consistent with it. Do cold approach and work on social skills. Do stand up comedy. I sing a lot in the car and this also definitely helps my vocal projection. Also in the car I can speak out loud instead of just thinking with an internal monologue

Filmmaking - Write screenplays which also helps with writing. Watch and analyze great movies. Write short films that I could film on a low budget over a weekend. Actually make short films to practice working with actors and being a director

Education - Read 50 pages a day. Watch and take notes on videos/podcasts/courses that I consume. Try and meet high quality mentors that I look up to.

Health - Cut out trash food. I eat way too much mcdonalds. I want to go on a full paleo diet. Daily exercise and stretching routine. Something like 100 pushups and running a 5k everyday would be good. I dont want to be crazy jacked, I just want to be super flexible and have decent strength.

Spirituality - Meditate for minimum 30 minutes a day. Go on a couple vipassana retreats a year.

Today I:

  • Read 40 pages of path of least resistance
  • Recorded video to practice speaking
  • Planned out this semester in terms of time management and course load

Tomorrow is my last first day of class. This is the last time Ill be a college student and have freedom from the "real world." Honestly looking forward to getting out of here, but I know I should cherish the moment and enjoy my last semester. Its weird, college went by way quicker than high school. This is the last few months where Ill have no real responsibilities so I need to use this time wisely to build up some skills and get in a routine of good habits. Tomorrow after classes I am gonna read 50 pages, exercise + stretch, record a video, and write.

I need to buy my books and some notebooks for class + journals. Also need to buy a water bottle, I left mine back at home

Today I:

  • Went to classes
  • Recorded a video for speaking practice
  • Stretched and did 100 pushups
  • Bought my books for class
  • Watched new Owen Cook video

First day of classes today. I had 4 classes because I wanted to pack my schedule to have most of the week off. The classes seem interesting except for this feminist ethics class I have to take to graduate. I feel so uncomfortable there, i guess now i know how a woman feels lol. I was pretty busy so I didnt get the chance to read today except for looking over some of the books I need for class. Idk why but I still get nervous when ever I get called on to introduce myself in class. Like my heart starts racing and I get butterflies in my stomach as if Im scared to embarrass myself. You would think after having crazy psychedelic awakenings, that type of mundane stuff wouldnt bother you.

Tomorrow I only have 1 class so I should have more freetime. I need to set up a routine that I can follow everyday. Mondays and Wednesdays will be tough because of the amount of classes, but I should still be able to fit some personal development in.

^^^ Great video. Love that he does a sort of update about what hes learned every year (Even though I think this video might have been filmed a year ago lol) The truth is that you are at the cause of your life and you need to take radical responsibility for creating the life that you want, and you do that by becoming a massive value provider.

Today I:

  • Went to class and did HW
  • Recorded video for speaking skills
  • Did 100 pushups and stretched
  • Read 50 pages of Path of Least Resistance

Only 1 class today, it was early and then I took a nap afterwards. Hit the library and did some work and read. Still getting into the swing of things at school. I feel like Im writing the same thing everyday of how I need to get into a better routine. I keep saying how I want to eat better but then I eat mcdonalds or chick fil a the next day. I need to plan out some sort of meal plan. Preferably lean chicken, fruit, almonds, maybe some eggs. I have a george foreman grill that can cook some stuff.

Tomorrow I have 4 classes. Its still syllabus week so classes arent too intense yet.

Today I:

  • Read 60 pages
  • Did 100 pushups and stretched
  • Went grocery shopping
  • Recorded video
  • Went to library to write and plan out a weekly schedule I can follow
  • Listened to Modern Wisdom podcast with Alex Hormozi

I tried to get healthy stuff at the grocery store. Chicken and fruit. That should last me 2-3 days. I planned out a weekly schedule for school. Im gonna focus on getting all my schoolwork done on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and then do my life purpose work on Tuesdays, fridays, and weekends. A common theme im seeing with hyper successful people is obsession over fulfilling 1-3 goals. On my working days im going to completely focus on writing screenplays and writing + recording youtube videos. I also want to write stand up comedy material, but im not sure if it will make me too scattered. I have tons of ideas for jokes in my iphone notes and if I fleshed them all out, it would probably amount to 10-20 minutes of material.

Some of my classes actually require that I turn my final paper in, in the form of a youtube video, so I can tie my schoolwork into making interesting/thought provoking philosophical content. Kind of like Consilience Project but not as good lol.

Today I:

  • Did 50 pushups + stretched
  • Went to library and brainstormed + wrote video ideas
  • Recorded video
  • Went to Target and staples for school + life supplies

I have about 100 really good video topics that I will be continuing to write and record over the few months. Right now Im just recording in my car and I dont plan on releasing these, just using them as a way to develop speaking skills and flesh out the topics im working on. I need to find a good spot where I can actually record high quality vids. Its difficult to do in my dorm because of roommates and disturbances. Home would probably be best but Ill see if i can find good spots down here.

I bought plates and utensils and a white board from target. I also bought a bunch of notebooks and pens from staples. I like the feel of analog writing way better than using a computer, but I also want to build a better commonplace book on my laptop.
