The solution to confusion

17 posts in this topic

Especially now in the Internet era where there is a connection to endless varying and different and conflicting worldviews ..it's easy to be confused.  I have experienced a huge confusion in the last year ...didn't know anything. And really was trying to get my Epistemology right and figure out what the hell is the ACTUAL fucking truth of existence lol

But recently I'm not interested to know anything .I have transcended the need to know. And thereby the confusion has ended .not because I finally found the answer. But after I dropped the need for the answer...are you getting this?

The reason you get yourself confused is that you are too attached to the end result. The fear of being wrong and making a mistake is stopping you from having a clear vision. You must change your mindset and your perspective. There is no wrong or right ..it is just a life being life .

my mind is gone to a better place.  I'm elevated ..going out of space . And I'm gone .

I really put up so much effort in crafting this insight ...thought it might be useful for those stuck in confusion ?.

Because I myself have dealt with what I would call "existential confusion " since the beginning of this year . Really cracking my head over questions like what the hell is the ultimate truth and what the fuck is reality ? But what I noticed is I don't have to focus my attention on this. I could instead enjoy the  sunset ?

Good insight.

I would go even further and ask myself "What If the answer can never come from a thought?"

Thanks !

Yup.  I agree .the "answer "..or the "thing" we all are seeking is not an intellectual piece of information that will magically make everything "click ".  But this is only known to those who went deep into meditation.  All existential questions are just mental noise . Truth is THIS UNSPEAKABLE OCCURRENCE.

Can you point to "confusion"? Can you point to "lack of truth"? Where is it experienced?

What is the solution to music? What is the solution to the color red? What is the solution to your experience?

Is the sensation of touch confused? Is sound confused? Is your experience confused?

Namaste.

Haha stop playing these silly games. I don’t think you have to look up the dictionary definition of confusion. We all know what that word points to.

There are hundreds if not thousands of different worldviews ..which one is right ? Is it Islam?  Christianity? Buddhism? Mormons? Solipsism? Materialism?  How can you trust any source of information?  How can you trust the media ? How do you know you are not a butterfly having a dream of being a human ??  How do you know you are not in a simulation reality..such that you are being fed input from outside the simulation reality?

You see ? You don't actually know Jack shit . Neither me.

what I'm suggesting here is that there is no solution to this. You just have to drop the desire for truth .you never needed it anyways .

Doesn't point to anything. It's purely just a word/concept.

The thing that decides what is right is also a worldview. Worldviews validating worldviews.

Of course you don't know these things. It's not you. It's knowledge.

It is never necessary to know about yourself because you have no choice but to exist as yourself all the time. It's a useless input on your part.

You don't know any of these things exactly because they aren't you.

Yes, correct. By definition all knowledge is not really about anything which exists. You can't know a lamp that is in front of you. Knowing becomes a useless input on your part. Knowing is only useful when the thing you're knowing doesn't exist in experience.

Right. In this case, the desire for a solution creates a problem that doesn't exist.

Isn't that backwards?  Can you elaborate on this ?

To me perception (or consciousness)=knowledge.

If I'm seeing a tree over there...I'm aware of the tree visually ? ..therefore I know it in a sense.  Even though I don't know what is it doing here (I'm referring to the mere fact that ANYTHING exists AT ALL!).

I'm talking about conceptual knowing, AKA knowledge.

There is knowing/understanding in experience as well, but it is completely different from conceptual knowing, which is knowledge. Not the same at all. As different as red and blue.

"I know" is always conceptual. "I am a human" is conceptual. "Lamps are objects that create light" is conceptual. All of these are knowledge and are not experienced as anything that isn't concept.

Ultimately there isn't a thing that has to know or a process of knowing, so the implied subject-object relation is completely redundant and it is just based on more knowledge/self-knowledge.

Bit of a language barrier. Hope this clarifies.

So if I'm having an orgasm..I experience it .then you ask me :do you know what an orgasm is ?..I would say yes..because I have experienced it . So to me knowing is equal to experience or direct consciousness.

Conceptual knowing is if you asked me to explain the biology behind an orgasm and how the dopamine and other neurotransmitters are flooding the brain ? yad yada....

Is that the difference?

Well I have to disagree.  Because you are basically trying to say anything that is being put into words is conceptual. And thats a tautology.

Of course. Words are just words.

This is conceptual knowing because the orgasm isn't being experienced anymore.

The orgasm knows itself perfectly, because it literally becomes you. When it ends, it's gone, and it stops being you, and so any knowing becomes memory. Anything you experience after the orgasm is not an orgasm, and thus it is concept/knowledge/memory.

It doesn't matter if your knowledge of an orgasm relates to a previous event, it is never the orgasm itself, it's just a concept, and so it is always concept/knowledge.

Yes, because it's an explanation, not the things being explained.

We don‘t even really know what we are. So at some point we have to accept the not knowing.

the problem with words and concepts is trying to understand reality starting from them, when they are the final part. You cannot arrive at the color red from the concept, but you can experience red and then structure that experience with the conceptual mind. the conceptual mind exists and has its place, the problem is when it takes the place of reality itself.

How far can reality be understood directly? is to check. The first step is to know that you will not understand anything with conceptual mind. you have to see the color red in a direct, pure, complete way. then you could make a map of what the color red is. it is a perception, an image in your mind, a manifestation of infinity that excludes the color blue, etc. But these are all just words. the color red is the color red. you have to look at it totally, and become the red, without the intrusion of thought. That's the real understanding of the color red. Later, if you want, you can think about it and make a map, since we have a conceptual mind

it is a good insight. confusion is kind of what ego death is like like im going to forget everything I know and become very confused.

confusion is when you are trying to understand something but cant. you are right that to stop confusion would be to stop trying to understand anything

so in a way how to stop being confused is to stop doing it to yourself

Yes, I think I'm getting this: You are slipping in this Neo Advaita epistemology into your justification mixed with some Confucianism and Daoism, and trying to resolve your confusion by giving up questioning and answering what is actual truth/existence.?

Note that confusion isn't limited only to the age of the internet and information, and the coming age of knowledge via advanced A.I technologies, but every age of humanity has it's versions of collective and individual confusions. Think about this from a meta perspective, consider the other developmental factors like values systems from Spiral Dynamics stages of development, cognitive and moral development, personality types and traits, ego development, diverse life experiences, other lines of development per life domain to societal domain, ideological beliefs indoctrinated, gas light and groomed by culture, and self biases and preferences. Also, typically confusion arises in the gaps, or in the grey areas between binaries like good/evil, right/wrong, black/white like the Yin-Yang, but most minds and ego doesn't like the grey areas, the exceptions to rules, the unexplainable, the unknown and unknowable, most ego and minds are biased towards more knowledge acquisition as knowledge=SURVIVAL and POWER.
