Yea. It’s tricky and can take years to un-wire. Many layers to it. Not impossible to calm it down though. Those thoughts can reflect something you lack but it’s not always obvious what that is. The content of the thought doesn’t always directly reflect what you want/lack. Id say this is a very individual path and all these different fantasies you might have about different things you seem to desire can have their own unique contexts to them :)

Short answer? "Waiting" is God pretending that time is a thing.

I hear sadhguru say that waiting is meditation. When you meditate you should just sit there and wait and thats what meditation is. Not to wait for anything specifically but to get in the mindset that you are waiting when meditating.

He said if you sit somewhere with a focus on waiting something will happen. But not to sit anticipating something will happen but just to sit and wait for a prolonged period of time.

God might pick up that you are waiting for something and make something happen that you were waiting for.

I think waiting is closely related to boredom and when one actively waits, that is without distracting themself, boredom arises. And boredom has the unique property of bringing out from within your psyche all the things you have been avoiding or suppressing. You can then work on these things and more unresolved conflicts would come up. It's like God gave you the easiest tool to integrate yourself, just be bored. You can also easily entertain yourself through thought experiments and stuff like that but I guess just don't do that.

Waiting is 'almost' being present. Because it's mixed with anticipation.

Tell me how many of us go work on these things when boredom hits. That's what society is for, go distract yourself, or call someone to do it for you. That's what we do. The entertainment playground. Yippee. No self-reflection here. Let's find something to do. That's why the lock down woke so many up. But you're right, though, God invented distractions to distract itself from itself. So if doesn't find itself just to find itself. Silly God. God you so silly. Oh wait, that's me.

waiting is how mind keep you in its clutches

by claiming that something you expect will happen later

in this way, we postpone living until tomorrow or whenever

waiting is the major obstacle keeping one unenlightened

ask yourself how many things are you waiting for

this is a measure of your unenlightenment

the enlightened are not looking forward to tomorrow

everything is put to bed right now

Waiting is the expectation for closure. Waiting = expectation

But what is "expectation"? And what is "closure"?

Waiting means - allowing all things to be as they are and not trying to change anything for a certain period of time.

Basicly a definition of meditation if u ask me.

waiting is indulging in time

meditation is the end of time

I don't get this. Explain.

the 2 statements explain each other

waiting is starting at point A and ending at point B

meditating is abiding in point A knowing it contains everything

namely the transcending of time

when the timer rings you cant believe the time is up

for me meditating is incompatible with waiting, everything is already perfect blissful divine, this moment is everything

bless you, essentially we are staking out the dual and non-dual perspectives on this ... both are valid and different ways to experience reality

it is good that people see both and understand both

yea i see both sides

our language is clumsy

if you‘re waiting for an outcome then it‘s uncomfortable but if you surrender then it‘s just what is and meditation
