I am the observer of my thoughts. But can the observer have thoughts of it's own?

10 posts in this topic

I am the observer of my thoughts. I am not my thoughts. But if I am the observer, can I think thoughts about my mind's thoughts as the observer? Or does the observer never have thoughts? The observer is just "being" and in the flow state? Can I have an internal monologue about my mind's thoughts as they float by if the monologue is generated by the observer?

The brain can run on auto-pilot when cooking dinner or driving to work or watching TV. I can see these thoughts float by. I do not identify with these thoughts.

But as I begin mindfulness work I am using my brain to plan a strategy for detaching from my thoughts. I am thinking about my thoughts. I still do not identify with these thoughts of critical thinking.

Eventually I detach from my thoughts and I am the observer. I identify with the observer. But can I have thoughts in this state?

Also, we all believe we live inside our brain just behind our eyes. Our goal is to detach from this concept and become one with the universe. But damaging the brain with surgery or cancer does prove we live inside our brain. How do we overcome this fact? Our brain is just an antennae picking up the field and the frequency? The "brain in a vat" concept still clings to the idea of the brain. Rene Descartes’ evil demon has convinced me brains exist? I am inside Plato's cave and I believe brain's exist? I am really convinced brain's exist. I need a new story to describe my brain so I can let go of the concept of a brain. I need a new perspective.

Thanks.

there is conceptual thinking by mind and non-conceptual thinking by awareness

awareness is seeing the tree, thinking is looking at the tree

awareness happens first then mind jumps in and adds its two cent overlay looking at shape color size etc

That's just it.  The observer is an illusion.   If you self inquire (and I know I push this all the time)  you can discover that the observer is an illusion.  You will be left with just pure Consciousness itself.

Wisdom.  Truth.  Love.

There are 2 types of thought. Thoughts you don't think and thoughts you think.  You can consciously think about something or you can witness a thought

Scream at yourself in your mind really loud so you can distinguish what is the you thought and what is just a random thought.

Do this and pay attention to what it is. Thats what you are without thought and language.

Pay attention to the feeling of what that is when you do it its like a telepathy that can be loud but makes no noise.

With no more thought no more language that is your left over and that is you and everything else is an illusion.

But this little thing that you are is infinite

To live consciously is to have this thing going all the time

@itsadistraction I spend all my free time contemplating God. And I have a kundalini that burst my crown chakra open 2-3 years ago and it hasn't closed or calmed down. I have fireworks going through my brain on a daily basis. It feels like a flower is blooming in my head.

i also have nde where it felt like i screaming out of that thing for eternity. no screaming tho cause its telepathic it cant make sound but it can make the most sound too

when you know god you know you will never be without that thing. and that thing is you
