Thanks for sharing these MsNobody. Terence McKenna as the Bard for his warm personality, the sheer presence, generosity of spirit, and erudition manifest in all of his many teachings making him The Guide, the Star we will follow to our dying day, even for the many of us who discovered him only after he left his body. Love you always T, M ?♾?. You knew the truth of who you are. Never stop with we plants are happy plants. Love you Brosskey Peter Bergmann.'

I recently saw a discussion between McKenna and Ram Dass. This really is a discussion between head (McKenna) and heart (Ram Dass)

"Not believing your own thoughts, you’re free from the primal desire: the thought that reality should be different than it is. You realise the wordless, the unthinkable. You understand that any mystery is only what you yourself have created. In fact, there’s no mystery. Everything is as clear as day. It’s simple, because there really isn’t anything. There’s only the story appearing now. And not even that.” — Byron Katie

@MsNobody I don’t hear McKenna speaking about nonduality or Awakening that much. I think we can judge his level of enlightenment by how he describes Truth and Consciousness.

Check out his book "True Hallucinations", he tells the entire La Chorrera story in detail.

I am going through it right now it’s pretty entertaining. He is a genius with words but of course none of that comes even close to being in the thick of a deep psychedelic trip.

Terence McKenna was completely delusional, he didn't understand truth or consciousness. This is coming from from someone who has listened to 250 plus hours of his talks and was completely engrossed and almost addicted to them.

This doesn't negate all of the work that he did, he done some amazing first hand research and studies into psychedelics and offered tonnes of insights and value.

His biggest hiccup was the unbelievable amount of fantasy he projected onto his experiences, you can notice this in the fact that nearly every single talk he had sounded like poetry straight out of a novel. This is why so people love and defend him, he was unbelievably captivating. To the point where the effect that it had on certain people almost veers into cultism, a lot of people viewed him as their saviour.

That being said I still l loved his talks and when he wasn't projecting he did offer quite a lot of useful info about psyches.

He knew the truth so did his brother but there is a good reason why he never told it but if you watched his stuff there are clues.
