Surrending in Spirituality feels womanesque

Surrender is very masculine.  It's going into uncharted territory, a foreign land like a mythological hero.

I think you confuse yourself by conflating various meanings or contexts of the word "surrender."

I agree. Awakening does feel feminine.

Psychedelics lead you into intuition, love, emotions, etc. For some of us guys it feels very feminine. We were unavailable and closed off. We were materialist reductionists atheists and now a whole new world is revealed to us. We were unbalanced unhealthy men.

It is akin to removing a privilege from a privileged class. They feel attacked. They feel discriminated against. But it is simply fairness and justice. So introducing spirituality to an atheist feels feminine.

There is also duality being reduced to a monad. So the two genders can be reduced to a non gendered or bisexual existence. Or we can see love as love and people as equal with no bias. Many shamans or religions or cultures do have a non gendered god or bisexual god or creation story.

Maybe we had toxic masculinity or some variation and so becoming balanced feels feminine. Maybe society and culture lied to us. We have been indoctrinated and programmed. We need to get unprogrammed. :)

I like this analogy:

It is like leaving an island and surrendering yourself to the sea.

Ordinarily, you think people who surrender are weaklings — you are wrong. Only very strong people can surrender, surrender needs strength, great strength. If you surrender out of weakness, your surrender is meaningless, impotent. If you surrender out of strength, then your surrender has meaning, significance. At the sixth center, when will comes to its ultimate focusing, surrender is possible. Out of will is created surrender: out of man, God created woman.

So my major pitfall in spirituality is that I can't surrender. It feels very womanesque

embrace you feminine side, you can't escape it so just accept it. might help you with surrendering.

Women go crazy for it too.

How is jumping into a void an equivalent to surrendering?

Think about it like this: In the end, even the most macho man has to surrender to death.

A finite thing cannot dominate the infinite in the end. The infinite dominates the finite. Maybe that's why God is called he, not she. God is death.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

That definitely hit a cord with me. Fear of death, dying before I accomplish the things I want, is definitely a theme I need to look into.

Parental relationship influences relationship to God. My experience with surrender to others have been awful so it is not weird that I don't want to surrender to others. I don't trust people and I don't trust god. Even nowadays I always I'm very reserved and I hear that quite a lot from people.

@StarStruck Surrending to God is paradoxically surrendering to yourself

This is an interesting discussion. It seems that for most of human history God has been more likely to have been perceived more like a She than a He. The western hierarchical thinking turned God into a He.

Also in Hindu Tantric tradition Kali is the Goddess(God) represented as and in Death, and also as the Ultimate Reality itself.

When You accept death, you simultaneously accept all of life

when you accept your terrified and don’t resist, the fear turns into metaphysical love

when you surrender to God, he shows you that he is you and you are him

and then he shows you that all of life is yours forever

And then you get on with the rest of your human life because the show must go on...

Beautiful quote

You have to surrender to the now, so surrender to yourself. It's an act that you really can do, and that is a complete turn in your relationship with existence. Instead of resisting, you go with the flow
