Focusing While Tripping

I have ADHD, but when I trip, it's amplified even more. Not sure if everyone feels this, but thoughts, ideas, imagery, and memories all explode in my mind. It's fun, but I feel like I can't focus enough to delve deeper. This convinced me that I need to establish a daily meditation habit. Other than meditation, what else can help with this?

Strong intention. More precisely, clarity about what You currently want.


I've got Infinity for a head and I have a hard time handling it.

This question is as old as the hills, "how can I stop/control the mind?" It's the first question people ask when getting into spirituality. 

There are many resources to help with this: Krishnamurti, Alan Watts, Echart Tolle, are a few. Be warned the answer is paradoxical and nuanced.

what are you taking?

I find it virtually impossible to focus on lsd or shrooms. lsd especially makes my mind verrry eratic.

hence I want to try pharmahusca.

Not necessary controlling the mind as a whole. just focusing more on one aspect whatever it maybe be.

DMT / and or Ayahuasca do that even more to me.

I had that :( I even wrote down things and thoughts and was looking at them while tripping. 

 

Yet i still too easily get lost in the mind while tripping, even more easily than normal consciousness.

I find that with time and practice I have become more focused during trips. It has been about self-correction for me, trial and error and learning from mistakes. But mostly being ever more determined to go really deep.

I don't have ADHD and I don't know what it's like though. Your situation is different and You'll have to build your own strategy I think. Have faith that You WILL develop it, if You put in the effort. You are a beginner I presume? Don't worry, You are going to work everything out. Just keep learning and it'll all be fine.

Yes you are trying to control the mind. Your mind is doing something and you want it to do something else. Aka control it to do what you want.

@Twega What is ADHD? What do you mean you can't focus? Does that mean you can't play video games more than 5 minutes? What does all this mean?


What you resist, persists and less of you exists. There is a part of you that never leaves. You are not in; you have never been. You know. You put it there and time stretches.

fear of surrender, if you focus while tripping your going to go somewhere. thats how you get there the fastest is by sitting there staring at one spot on the wall.

the craziest trip i had i sitting on my couch and it felt like i was going to be sucked out of my skull. like my conciousness was wrapped in a plastic bag and the handles were behind my head. my conciousness was like a rock in the bag and i was being pulled out the back by the handles. my rock was too big and wouldnt fit out the hole. I heard a voice in my head say 'hey man you are wearing too many shirts!' and i saw a man in my head wearing 500 tshirts and hes trying to go out of a hole that he needed to be naked to go out of. and the voice said 'focus on this spot on the wall for a second and dont think'. i did for like 2 minutes and i felt all the shirts fly off me instantly and i was outside my body in a realm of light. when you leave your body you are still in the same spot so when you return its just kinda like your body fazes in and fazes out of reality.

4 ho met is good for concentrating, maybe the mushrooms.
Anything too much stimulating like lysergamides, cannabis etc makes me particularly delusional and the whole point of "focusing on something" becomes futile.

I am not a doctor. I cannot cure ADHD. But maybe eliminate salt, sugar, and caffeine from your diet. Go vegetarian. Exercise intensely and regularly. Sleep very well. Drink water. Get sunshine. Take your vitamins. Eat healthy. Etc.

Maybe when you trip use earbuds and an eye mask and a dark room. Listen to guided meditations or a voice to keep you focused. They walk you through scenes. But the drawback is you cannot let your mind wander into the subconscious because the guided mediations somewhat focuses you on certain imagery or a certain task or healing. But my mind often wanders even though I am listening to the guided meditation.

But maybe people with ADHD should not use psychedelics. Maybe use downers or stuff like ketamine.

@Twega Sure thing. The most important take-away I got from watching the video was when he said it's a matter of where (in your mind) you place your awareness.
