How to see when someone responds to your post

10 posts in this topic

Years ago I use to be able to look at my profile and see by the font (bigger letters) which threads had had new responses. Now I manually check them and often miss things.

Is there a setting to make it so I can see when people respond to a threat I want to see when people have posted something?

Hit the "show replies" button after you make a post. At the top right-hand corner of a post there's a "follow" choice. Hit that. Also go to settings>notifications and set to "show me replies to posts I follow" or have commented on. Hope this helps. I had to maneuver my way around in the beginning to figure it out. I still don't know how to extract a specific quote from a post and just respond to that quote alone, I just quote the whole thing.

It's a good thing I didn't have to quote a long ass quote here.  This one is too laughable.

You can just manually delete the bits you don't want to quote, as though you were editing your own post.

Just left click and drag highlight the part of the text you want to quote and a little box should pop up that says 'quote this' then click that box. It should populate the quick reply field with just that bit as the member's post you will be quoting. It will even do it for multiple quotes from multiple member's so you can respond to each of them at once.

I did it for this reply and it worked fine.

Finally, thank you. I just have to not highlight my own quote/post/comment. But that was easy to do.

There. Now I have to figure out the multiple, but I'll figure it out, Leave it up to Leo to make things complicated/ easy, never in the middle. He's an extremist.

This is from your last post and now I'll just go back to add another quote from an earlier post using the same drag highlight method.

Even if you don't write a reply to the quote as soon as it populates the quick reply but add more quotes to reply to we can always go and click into the space in between the quotes to make the specific reply to each quote once they are populated into the quick reply field.

Also, the quote will populate where the cursor is in the quick reply field, so if you edited your reply at some point remember to set the cursor back to the bottom of the reply or it will cut your reply in half with the populated quote.
