Is effort an illusion?

Do things just happen or do we play some sort of part in what happens?

Not an illusion.

You are God. You are Truth. You are Love. You are Infinity.

@jdc7733  how would you know if you had the correct answer?

I don't think you can know this by somebody telling you. I think you have to find out first hand. And how would you do that?

It would be more self empowering to believe that effort was not an illusion.

How would knowing or believing that effort was an illusion change your life?

This is such a low-quality post with broadly interpretable definitions but I'll try my best.

If you define effort as some force you can apply to an external reality to change that reality then yes effort clearly changes things.

Try sitting on a couch and see if that pays your bills or cooks you dinner. If it does, then you will have proved your theory that effort is indeed an illusion

I'd say the emotional pain you feel is the effort you put to keep this world together.

Ehh, that’s what autopay is for. And DoorDash.

Just be careful not to use these tools as a way to avoid hard work. Most people do.

False dichotomy.  The second part assumes the reality of the personal self concept.

First you must prove its existence (or fail and perhaps get enlightened in the process.)

Yes. Reality should be effortless.

Effort is just a concept in your mind that has relevance only if you think about it.

You can do it effortlessly or with huge amount of effort.

But the default case scenario is that we don't know how to do things effortlessly. Once we break the illusion, those things that required effort become second nature to us.

@Shodburrito @Leo Gura since everything is acausal and just a dream, shouldn't effort be an illusion?

You are imagining effort.

Not just at God levels, but even at human and personal level.

What would limit GOD from creating parts of itself?

Limiting Reality to being effortless is a mistake.

This is the most unfortunate trap of nondual teachings.
