Islam is not metaphor.  Its Simple there can only be one objective truth..Which means no matter what anyone believes there has to be 1 reality..So in that way we ask is there a God ?and the answer is yes because the universe and this earth isn't just generated by randomness and out of nothing..do you agree ?

There must be a designer to create it.

So then we look at all the major religions :

And we see Islam..Christianity and hinduism and what not..

But to keep it simple the quran has been preserved letter to letter for centuries...unlike the Bible. The bible will not be accepted as a reliable source of information.

other religions they were made by humans..for example let's take buddhism or hinduism or whatsoever.. I once saw a documentary on buddhism and they declared randomly that a human is our god (buddha) like what is this? A killable human that is god? A human that was in the womb of a mother that is god?  god is not a human Or even like the zeus or stuff like that..what is this? A god that can be shown on a picture? A god that needs oxygen to live on the earth? A god that is just mythology? A god that is only here on earth?

and this applies to Jesus as well ..a  god that has a shape of a human? Wtf is this nonsense?

There can only be one truth and that is that you open yourself to the truth of what reality is, but Islam does not try that but rather it tells you things so that you incorporate them into your conceptual software and take that as truth. I would say it depends on the region in Syria, but it is safe to assume that half of the people born in 90s and later are technically atheists, In fact out of every 10 people I know in my region who are between 15-30, 8 are atheists, agnostic or spiritual (practicing meditations etc). 

Religion is openly criticized in Syria but safety wise? I never fast ramadan for example and I eat publicly and never got attacked by someone so this might be a good indication.

Very Interesting, I thought it would be different. This means that in a few years, perhaps Islam will cease to be the great obstacle that it is to the evolution of many millions of people.

I honestly don't think Islam is the problem in the middle east, it needs reformation but the problems that keep causing wars are actually geopolitics and Islam is just a tool used by regional and global powers.

Yes , I am ignorant about the complexity of the Syrian situation and other Middle Eastern countries. I have traveled several times to Morocco and once to Mauritania, that are Muslim countries, but are different of middle earth, and there I have seen a society quite trapped in Islamic conservatism and very hypocritical in sexual matter, extremely difficult for women in general, but I have heard that some Middle Eastern countries have societies freer even though they seem rigid from the outside
