Can You Fall In Love With Those You Once Despised? If you can authentically fall in love with your enemies, your detractors, when you truly understand where they are coming from is when you are making true progress. If your life were to end with you holding the same opinion of denial of those who you disagree with, your life is a life not fully lived. 

Everyday pick someone you disagree with and seek to understand their perspective. If you can accomplish this, you will grow in knowledge and understanding. Always remember....all bias= stupidity. It's needed to hold an individual perspective, but it can become a prison. Ever wonder when you watch a movie sometimes why the main character acts stupid from your perspective when the author of the story makes you privy to information that the main character doesn't have?

As a kid I would get mad when the main character has a love interest but believes she doesn't like him, and acts in ways that stops him from getting what he wants. But notice he has a bias, a belief that she doesn't love him and thus even though its not true that is the lens that he views reality from and cannot get what he desires which is to connect with her. 

Understand that when you hold biases, your life is operating exactly the same. All bias distorts the reality of what is true. So learning to love those who mistreat you actually makes you see life clearer. It's sad that I'm cheating and giving you practical reasons to be more loving....but Love is practical, its pragmatic, its TRUE PRAGMATISM.

How do you actually will yourself into loving someone. You can't. Love is a spontaneous happening out of your control.

I don't necessarily agree with this. If you have a pet, you're gonna love them over time, it builds stronger. It cannot be spontaneous.

You put your self in there shoes, understand there entire life and its trajectory from birth till now with out personal bias, understand that a person is the synthesis of many factors most of which not in there control and then empathy is born.

Basic self-development concept. I think your confusing the absolute from the relative.

That still doesn't produce the feeling of love. The feeling of love is spontaneous per god's will or cosmic law. You don't choose who you fall in love with.

@Holykael you only need one tick above hate to love and you set the boundary between them. You don't have to love them like a high school girlfriend

Are you talking about infatuation? Because that's a misconception of love or if we put love on a developmental scale. Infatuation over a first GF madly in love is like stage 3 love? lol

The capacity to love beyond your survival agenda is stage 6 love? lol There are stages to this that human progress through.

I mean any type of love. Love for your mother, love for a story, love for a video game, love for god.

I can sit here and think about anyone in a flattering way and feel positive love emotions. Its not out of my control, roll of the dice pure luck, gambling casino odds.

People love things that benefit there ego human survival agenda and hate everything else and it takes a leap in self-development to love beyond ones agenda.

You didn't will the positive love emotions nor did you will your thoughts. You saying that you can sit and do something is a thought. You didn't produce the thought, it happened spontaneously. Also this. It's so annoying that god programmed others to speak like they are free when they aren't.

Are you experiencing solipsistic depression?

Alot of what your saying is a story that is interchangeable with any other story.

So what your saying is, it seems like im loving things non-spontaneously, but in reality because there is no free-will it was a scripted event.

So that does not change the fact that at any time a scripted non-free will event can happen that makes you love an enemy and that scripted event can happen 10 seconds from now if you "DO IT".

The conversation is being derailed because you want to talk about how there is no free will from the absolute perspective. That in practicality useless and not part of this topic. 

Practically you can "DO" things freely or not and get happiness from it.

You CAN change your perspective of anything free will or not. It can happen.

Everything is changing constantly all the time scripted or not and so will you change inevitably.

Thanks for the reply. Can you give me an example you've learned that is nonconflict related? By conflict I mean internal, and external, between two parts of yourself or your identity(identities). I can perceive spiritual experiences being one, but that would seem to fall outside of duality, and I feel can be learned outside of physicality.

Close your eyes.....imagine a guy pointing a gun and shooting you.

Now....open your eyes and realize your current imagination is at human level, if you walked outside and that event you just imagined happened in the waking dream....it would hit a lot differently.

You think you can learn a lesson outside of physicality? HAH!!! I can't imagine with human imagination how something would feel, it doesn't have the depth of the intensity. But I can definitely experience it in 3-D and get the FULL EFFECT. The lessons you learn is not about understanding it conceptually but experientially.

It's why when you see someone's life who you think is harder than yours you say, "I would hate to be him" knowing full well that how you are imagining it doesn't even come CLOSE to how it feels to actually go through it. Now...if your imagination ability can reach God level....THEN you can experience the full intensity...but GOD level imagination...is what we call PHYSICALITY.
