I feel guilty for speaking up

13 posts in this topic

I realize that I have a subconscious aversion to speaking. Even as I am typing this paragraph, I keep having thoughts like, "You're not allowed to say that", or "Your not good enough to say it" it is very strange.

Its thoughts like, "You're not allowed to do that, that, or that. I think my parents were very controlling and controlled what I said or this is societies' conditioning.

I am not sure.

Contemplate the meaning of the phrase, "Speak now or forever hold your peace."

@Chives99 Why do you think Socratese drank the poision from the cup, when all he needed to do is say his teachings are wrong and save his life?

@Chives99 But here im talking about living your own truth that's the point.

Not living your own truth will resault, like topic starter being controled by social conditioning and you would not know who Socrates is...

You cant be true to who you are if you dont live by your own rules and principles, if you dont do that you cant lead yourself, you cant be who you are and then you gonna change yourself for women, not being able to lead because maybe she will leave if you going to take her somewhere you want and you will always being in doubt of who you are , what to say, what to do etc..
