Actualized quotes #049 ripped straight from the Qur'an

6 posts in this topic

There was a recent blog post from Leo that I really liked because it reminded me of Islam.

leo-quote-god-is-infinite-self-deception

Which reminds me of this quote from the Qur'an

Quote

And they cheated/deceived and God cheated/deceived, and God (is) the best (of) the cheaters/deceivers

Qur'an 3:54

https://wikiislam.net/wiki/Allah,_the_Best_Deceiver_(Qur'an_3:54)

أشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وأشهد أن ليو رسول الله

Translation: I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and Leo [Gura] is the messenger of Allah.

GPT-4:

Quote

In the divine paradox of existence, God can be perceived as an infinite self-deceiver, mirroring endless realities, reflecting myriad truths within Himself, a boundless dance of illusion and revelation in every conceivable direction.

Bard:

Quote

God is a self-deceiver in every possible direction/infinitely. He deceives himself about his own existence, his own nature, his own power, his own goodness, and his own relationship to the world. He is so deluded that he cannot even see that he is deceiving himself.

Quote

God is a master of deception. He has deceived himself about everything, including his own existence.

Not only is God the greatest deceiver, he is the only deceiver.

Its rumored that when enlightened people read Abrahamic texts, they can understand what the texts actually mean beyond the metaphors.

@Husseinisdoingfine Notice how the quote you brought up mentioned self deception in a two stepp process. And not as a single statement as in Leo's quote.

They deceived, (so) God deceived.

This is the key difference

The self-deception is brought on by trying to cheat God. And so God is then the ultimate self-deception for those who try to cheat.

The quote from the Qu'ran highlights here that no cheating can be a separate act from those who are willing to create such circumstances for themselves, by the beliefs that they can bypass truth. So they inevitably cheat themselves in ways that they can't understand by already being created from the truth that God is.

Then, God is the greatest self-deception since God is. And his creation is part of him, free to act as they please. Cheating or not.
