Dear Leo, could you elaborate on this statement you made in a recent blog post?

9) “Why do so many human beings believe in GOD?”

And you responded with

You will find this very difficult to believe but here’s the honest answer: for the exact same reason that most human beings believe in the existence of the Sun.

 

Could you please elaborate on this? Like, simple people who intuitively believe in God, is there a wisdom to it? These people are often mocked by atheist comedians and anti-religious crusaders such as Richard Dawkins as being stupid and backwards hicks. But from what I intuit from your blog post as that these people are seeing something that the scientists don't see due to the brainwashing the scientist had to go through to get his PhD.

So could you please elaborate on this comment? Why is average people believing in God as obvious as believing in the Sun. Do these people intuit God from nature's beauty, or something like that?

Perhaps a better analogy would be not the Sun but Antarctica. Why do you believe in Antarctica?

No, it's more twisted than that.

The believers are one down from scientists, but even so, they are ultimately right simply by buying into dogma which was sourced from a profound truth which scientists today do not comprehend.

It's possible to be right by accident. It's also possible to be right for the wrong reasons and via wrong methods.

A fundamentalist Christian is right but via wrong methods. It's sort of like firing your gun at the sky and accidentally killing a murderer who was coming to get you but you didn't even know he existed. You just got lucky. This doesn't mean that firing your gun into the sky is the right method.

That doesn’t really explain todays mass spread religion to me…or am I missing something 

So for example let’s say someone met Jesus . His “energy” from his state of consciousness and the way he explain things might be so profound that the person listening can’t help but believe in it. That is understandable.

Or let’s say someone reads a religious book thoroughly. So much wisdom from these conscious people in it that they can’t help but believe which makes sense to me

but the average religious person hasn’t done either of those. They just hear from their surroundings growing up, other “unconscious people” and a little bit religious text. So there must be something else making them believe it so certainly. Or are people just like sponges who absorb everything from their surrounding?

This is no different from science. Why does the average person believe in atoms? None of them have seen an atom. You need someone exceptionally intelligent and influential to convince everyone else that atoms exist. And so it is with GOD.
